I would rather see people play hoops by using skill not acting, man up and play D. If you cant stop the guy you're guarding too bad, but dont be a pussy and throw yourself on the floor when the contact is not that bad (or even worse no contact at all - the "Raja Bell flop"😉.
Thats just my opinion, it just happens to be different from yours.

Well, I think flopping prevents guys like Shaq from simply bulldozing over defenders at will. There's no defensive skill against that, and sometimes effort can't get you there either. It's like trying to guard a giant boulder that's coming your way. You can't.

I think just the fact that flopping is permitted prevents this. I don't support guys like Raja who just fall for nothing and try to get a call. But I'm all right with the defender running to a spot and taking the charge.

Why penalise Shaq for being bigger and stronger than the guy guarding him? He just uses the advantage he has over his opponent. I would be more concerned with the errant elbows that Shaq catches his opponents with when he spins into his shot.
Shaq is probably the hardest player to officiate, i hear announcers say that all the time but its true. What can look like him barreling over a player is just him making a simple post move, the fact that he outweighs the dude by 100lbs is the reason the other guy goes flying not because he is committing an charge. Again i think its unfair to penalise a player for being bigger and stronger. And yes i just defended Shaq, look for Dogs and Cats to be living together by the end of the week. 😉
As for the Suns style of flopping, thats where it really pisses me off. These guys would rather flop than play honest defense and that to me is not respecting the game. Beating a player to the spot for a charge is OK with me as long as the guy is not airborne, that is just an injury waiting to happen.

For the record I agree with Koolz.

Flopping is a pussy ass way of playing defense. This was not the type of basketball that I personally grew up watching. The league needs to get rid of that charge line and that flopping play acting bullshit and let players go back to playing good tough defense, hand checking etc.

Edit: Not to mention that sliding under players when they're about to dunk just to pick up a charge can seriously get someone hurt and it just takes away from the game.

Utah won by 4 Points. It was a good game ,but damn it the Warrior's and they're rebounds man. They've had that problem the whole run.

Btw, I wasn't able to watch the whole game, was there a heavy dose of Boozer early on in the post? I was surprised they didn't go to him more during the end.

I can only imagine what Duncan or Stoudemire could do to this team.

If the Warriors want to win they HAVE to work on those rebounds.. I swear to god. I think they got used to just making three's over the Mavs, they just stand around after one of takes a shot.

Well I don't know, I mine alot people call an legitimate Offesive foul a flop, I remember seeing Nash take a charge from Lebron James at full speed, and some deusche was b!tching about how Nash flopped, and I told him was a ****in retard because it was a blatant offensive foul, sometimes people don't understand (or maybe I should be more specific and say the "casual" fan) don't realise that some players are taking legitimate charges from people that are 6'8, 240, and there at full speed. Sure, some players try and flop and pull Vlade Divac, but if it's ok for the player to shoot the ball, get cleanly cleanly blocked, than do an acting number like he was foul and get the call. I mean it works both ways.

And getting rid of the charge line would be a bad idea, that would only cause more undercutting, and more flopping.

That's exactly why, because Shaq uses his elbow and shoulder so much when he's doing his damage, and the refs don't always call him for it. Last year's finals, he did it all the time and wasn't penalized for it.

I think there should be considerations on size in the league. Just like in boxing, there are heavy weights, middle wieghts, and light weights. You can't make separate leagues in basketball, but I don't think it's right to say, "well, if he's too big for you, too bad." So, allowing flopping sort of prevents Shaq from being a gorilla and pushing everyone over. And yes, many of his offensive fouls are offensive fouls. You can't make the excuse that he's bigger, so he has more trouble dealing with smaller guys. Uh uh. Smaller guys has as much if not more trouble dealing with him.

But I see your point about Raja Bell flopping. Flopping for nothing is bad.

Legitimate charges I have no problem with. You beat your guy and got in position to take the charge. But acting is not ok and that's what I have a problem with. Where you have no idea how to play defense but your acting skills are superb. Like someone 6'8 being lifted in the air by someone barely 6'0....I can't believe the officials fall for that bs. And Shaq should not be penalized because he is big.

IMO if the Warriors win the next game they have total control of the series. I don't see them losing at home.

I want GS to win the series, but I think either if the Suns OR Spurs win, GS is screwed.

Damn, the Suns game was entertaining in the 1st half, but the 2nd half they just blew them away. The Suns took advantage when the Spurs tried to match them at small ball, and the Spurs never recovered. Plus Duncan fouls trouble really hurt them, he probally could have scored all there 3rd quarter points if he didn't pick up his 4th.
