No question? Wrong. You act like it is a well known fact that Durant is better, but really, neither has done anything to show which of the 2 are better. I personally think Oden is better, right now. I think you are confusing the terms "best" and "most offensively talented". To me, this is like arguing McGrady is better than Duncan. McGrady can put up more points, yes, and can be argued to have more skills on the offensive end. However, at the end of the day, Duncan is better and has the rings to show it.
On a second note, I find it ridiculous to even mention Brown and Olawakandi. You act as if Durant will be a stud and Oden will be a nobody. In reality, both will most likely end up being studs. Most experts and analysts though predict that Oden will have the better career.
Comparing Oden to Kwame ❌ .................. 😆
On a different note:
What a sad game 1 of the Finals. It wasn't even a game. Even while the Cavs had a short lived lead it felt like they were being stomped. This is where Mike Brown really needs to show he can coach. If he doesn't adjust well enough, it shows how terrible he is as a (offensive) coach.
Sad game? well I guess, it wasn't a close excited game if thats what you mean, Cavs did start to make it interesting in the last two minutes, but I loved watching the Spurs take care of business in game one, watching there players dive for loose balls, crash the boards, rotate the ball to the open man, I love watching that team.

I love watching both of the teams, even when the score didn't show it, the game was completely lopsided. Cavs got outplayed in every aspect, and that last two minutes still wasn't a big threat. I thought the Cavs would have put up a little more battle. Hopefully we'll see that in game 2.
I don't think the series will get interesting until it gets back to Cleveland, the Cavs are a completely different team when they play on there homecourt, but I still think the Spurs can take it in 5.

Oden hasn't played a single NBA game, so comparing him to past NBA draft bust is not that far fetched seeing as how we haven't really seen what he can do in the NBA and those two players also had a lil hype and high expectations surrounding them going into the draft. Not calling him a bust just saying it would be wiser for them to take Durant. But if Oden does turn out to be a bust you bes believe I will be 😆 but we wont know this until maybe 5-6 years down the road.
Oden has already accomplished more than the 2 you compared him to while he has the potential still to be great. You have to be the only person on the planet to believe he has even a remote chance of being a complete bust. Its not like he is being hyped purely on potential, but on how well he already plays. And I still don't see how you think Durant has shown without a doubt that he is the better player of the two.
How has he accomplished more when he hasn't played a single NBA game? Makes no sense. And anybody in this draft has a chance to be a bust, Durant or Oden are no different. Just another example of overhyping when you say a guy doesn't have a remote chance of being a bust. Everybody in the draft possess that. Judging off of how Durant dominated in college, the numbers he put up and the awards he won, I would think he would be the better player.
In the end, the Blazers will probably draft teh hype and end up right back in the lottery.
Leading a team to the NCAA championships is accomplishing more than the other two guys have ever done. As a Laker fan (Kobe), you should know that basketball is more than who puts up the numbers. As for that award, Oden would have been right up there in the running had he not missed many games plus having to play with his off hand for most of the season. But in the end, Oden led a team to the championships, not Durant, and that is what is important. To me, Durant is the overhyped player. It has been said (I don't remember where but I believe it was a scout) that there really wouldn't even be a debate of who should go 1st if it weren't for the media trying to find something to write up.
Just for the record, Oden's defense is far and above Durant's so I don't understand how you believe there is no question than Durant is better.
Is it the media trying to find something to write up on, or was it Durant averaging 25 points and 11 rebounds while also winning these awards. (Taken from Wiki)

You can find defensive player in free agency or somewhere else in the draft, Joakim Noah is a good defensive player, but hardly a #1 overall pick. I wont argue that Oden's defense is better than Durant's, because I agree with you. But he is no joke on defense, with his long arms, quick jump and leaping ability, he can be molded into a pretty good defender.

Oden did have a much better team though. Conley Jr. is amazing. Ron Lewis is a very solid player, and they had a lot of pretty good role players. Texas had Durant. That's it. Augistien would have really good games here and there, but he wasn't consistent. Durant did almost everything every game.
But, Oden and Durant will both be amazing players, and I think you can't go wrong with either of them.

You can't find an extremely good center in free agency though (or much of anywhere in the league), which is what Oden will likely be. You can find perimeter players and slashers that are comparable to Durant that can be added to the roster later. Notice how all the comparisons people make to Durant such as "he's like McGrady" or "he's like Garnett". All of the players he is compared to are current players, which means you can find others with similar talents. Oden is usually compared to guys like Ewing and Russell, which shows that he will be a unique player. I think the only current player his game has been compared to is Duncan (unless you want to count Kwame and Olowokandi 😉 ). This is just another reason I would take Oden though, not "the" reason.
Btw, I in no way think Durant will be a flop. I think both will be amazing and that Durant does have a chance to be better. Most of all though, the reason I am arguing with you this much, is because of the statement that said there is no question that Durant is better. You claimed that Oden hasn't accomplished anything yet since he hasn't played a single game in the NBA, but how can you be so sure Durant is better if he also hasn't played a single game?
Well, atleast the Cavs have some momentum going into game 3. They need to win game 3, BAD!!!. Chances are the Cavs won't even get out of Cleveland, but like I said before, they are a different team at home so hopefully we can watch some excited games instead of 3 quarters of domination, than a 4th quarter run that will come up short.
Wow, I havent posted here in a while cause I forgot my password but I randomly remembered it lol. Anyway, I think Lebron is a beast on the court and taking a team like the Cavaliers to the finals even though they're from the east is just awesome, especially for being such a young player. With that said, they have no chance against the spurs. Too much talent, cohesion, and playoff experience. It was a good try Lebron.
By the way, hope the Lakers do well during the offseason. While I do feel they need to change their roster, I think giving up Odom AND Bynum may be too much for JO. I wont complain, though, because I actually like JO. It'll suck so bad if Bynum develps into a star on another team, but I prefer proven talent over potential. So let's just see what happens.
The Spurs-Cavs series reminds me of an article I read last playoffs. The article was written before 2006's Cavs-Pistons series and it was about how the Pistons were going to dominate James and the Cavs, but it would benefit LeBron in the long run. They figured the series would go 4-5 games and it would be the first time that James truly felt helpless. That series was suppose to put the fire in James that made him become an unstoppable force just like the Bad Boy Pistons did to Jordan. Instead, that series went to 7 games and LeBron never got that dominated feeling. Hopefully, this series will do to LeBron what that series was supposed to (according to that article).
In the mean time, I hope Duncan gets the MVP again over Parker (assuming Spurs do win). Duncan seems to have already cemented his position as "all time great PF" among most people's opinions. But winning a 4th finals MVP would mean Duncan has officially accomplished more in his 10 year career than Shaq has in Shaq's 15 year career.
Shaq - 4 championships, 6 Finals appearances, 3 Finals MVPs, 1 season MVP
Duncan - (assuming what I said above comes true) 4 championships, 4 Finals appearances, 4 Finals MVPs, 2 season MVPs
