This is hilarious, so what if he dunks alot. In 92 a certain dominant center was drafted and guess what 90% of his shots were? Dunks. Didnt work out too bad for him and he's had a HOF career.
The fact is that Oden does have a post game, he is not as polished as some but he does have some moves down on the block and there is no reason to expect that he isnt going to improve.
The reason people are so high on him at the moment is his defense, he changes the way other teams will attack. Thats what all the great big men have done, not only do they block shots but they alter alot more by their sheer presence. The only thing the Blazers need to ask him to do offensively is set picks, go after the offensive boards and finish any drive and dish passes strong at the rim. He can average double digits in scoring by doing that alone. Its the defensive end that the Blazers should want him to focus on right away, having that anchor protecting the paint will improve their overall team defense, much like Duncan does for the Spurs. When you have that kind of shotblocker back their then the perimeter defenders can play alot more aggressively and not worry so much about giving up layups and with Jack and Roy on the perimeter they have some good defenders anyway. Lets not forget Aldridge at PF who is an excellent shot blocker as well, i can see why the Blazers fans are so optimistic for the future.
I wanted to show you guys something that made me LMAO. 😆
The Raptors need an 3pt shooter on the team. Parker, Bargnani are good shooters, but not great 3pt shooters.
If you have him and he performs as well as his contract, having him playing when you have Bosh, Bargnani and Ford playing could seriously create havoc with defenses.
Is he overpaid...I have no ****ing clue, but its not money. I trust Colangelo, he's been pretty much gold in terms of personal decisions.

😆 Sure he'll help on the offensive side, but on the defensive side the Knicks just got worse. Btw, Marbury is a moron.
Btw, $1.5 mil per year isn't outrageous for a sharpshooter. However, Kapono cannot create his own shot so it is completely up to his teammates to get him open (in other words Bosh will need to kick it out after drawing doubles).
Edit: OH SHIT! PER YEAR!?! Scratch that, they overpaid. They better hope that he is the last step to getting to the Finals but I don't see it.

Unfortunately in todays game, players must do more than just dunk. Greg Oden must learn more. If he does, he win be a good player.

He wouldn't be a first pick in the draft if all he could do was dunk.

Can you post a link? I can't seem to find it.

I disagree. The Raptors need more of a slashing SG or SF with some strength and ability to finish down low. Bargnani, Delfino, Parker, Garbajosa, and Dixon are all decent shooters from the outside, and are most likely going to be camping outside for the whole time. You need more inside offensive presence to help out Bosh. Getting Kapono won't help much, and considering that he's being paid 6 million per year, I don't really get why the Raptors signed him. Money counts; it could mean the difference between being able to sign a valuable player or not.
