Shaq still takes up space but in terms of being able to move his feet and rotate he is done. Teams will just run the pick and roll and either get all the way to the rim or mid range jumpers all day. Shaq couldnt guard the pick and roll when he was with us (go back and watch what Bibby used to do to us) so now it would be just sad to see him cover the ground needed to play it well.
His defense now is basically fouling if he has to move his feet, he can still play post defense but centers like Duncan, Bynum, Okur and such (if they are smart) should just face him up and blow by him.

They brought Shaq in for defense not offense, he's there to ignite the break with defensive stops. Thats suppose to be the plan anyways. They say his first game for the Suns will be agains the Lakers on the 20th.
The Lakers have a chance to win that game, but first I believe they'll win tonight.

Yeah,
TSN did an spot of the all raptor team and it was like this.
PG: Damon Stodamuire

PF: Chris Bosh
C: Antonie Davis
It was pretty nifty.

i would have put marcus camby at center. imagine him and bosh in the middle. you['d have yto have a healthy alvin williams mo pete on the bench too.
cant beleive we lost the game though. damn those clips!

Very true, but Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom are fairly fast for their size so I think it will work. When Andrew Bynum gets back, they'll have one of the best benches in the NBA, as if they don't already. I can't wait until he comes back and they are at full force. They will be amazing to watch.

you dont win the same amount of games as the blazers have with ONE player... they may struggle a little but i think as long as they can grab a few wins they'll be fine. raps up at halftime. be a nice game to get
Haven't seen many Blazer games this year, have you? Roy gets the ball movement going throughout the game and he takes over in the 4th. We had are largest deficit all year last night. Yes, the Pistons are a really good team, but the Blazers have always done well in Detroit and have even beat them once this season. They would have most likely been way closer throughout the game had Roy been there.
unfortunatly I havent seen that many games this year.... due to not having the internet from end of november til last week. the tv coverage we get is incredibly crap too!!!!!
i dunno though, surely the team cant rely on just one player? looking at the stats alridge seems a decent player, and i thought channing fry would get more minutes, he seemed a very promising player at new york

Exactly
The team is filled with good role players that potentially can be more in the future. Even Aldridge isn't doing that great. He is not the type of guy that controls a game, and his better games are still when Roy gets him going. Roy seriously is the heart of the team right now, and they are lost whenever he goes to the bench. The Pistons game and the current game against the Pacers are reminiscent of those times when Roy goes to the bench. The final score of this Blazers/Pacers game is not going to look as bad as this game has actually been.
In other words, the Blazers are a good team, but when Roy is out, they are not the same "team." This is exactly why Roy made the all-star team.
