I've noticed the rise of Laker fans as well, its hard to miss. If they make it to the finals this board will really explode with them.

its good to see the lakers doing well, i'm not a fan but like the celtics they're one of those teams that should do well, it aint right otherwise. i would love a lakers celtics final, that would be huge and possibly give the nba the boost they're looking for. who i'd REALLY like in the finals? utah. i think they're doing well and while not teh best team about, they're capable of beating anyone. deron williams is going to become a great player.

Been here since the first page and following the Lakers since the 80's bro, but you already know that.
I remember last year when the Spurs won it all there were a few fans who showed up to say their piece and were never heard from again in this thread. Same with the Suns when they have had playoff success, it just natural to be more enthusiastic about your team when they are winning. Trust me if i had more spare time on my hands i'd be on here alot more these days to chat about how well we are playing, i endured the hard times in this thread and it kinda pisses me off that im too busy to spend alot of time on here now we have turned it around.
Time will tell how good this Laker team will be this year, Pau has been a godsend, but he cant anchor our defense like Bynum can so until we get him back we will struggle against the elite teams in the playoffs. If Bynum can come back strong then we are in great shape, that gives us 2 high percentage scorers in the low post (3 if you count #24) and an intimidator that can alter every shot that comes into the lane. Bynum also allows Gasol to become a weakside shotblocker which is his strength and dont forget about Turiaf who is a solid shotblocker to. Bynum is the key, im not worried about how he will play with Gasol because they are both unselfish and they both have high bball IQ's. Pau is a fantastic passer so i can see him setting up Bynum just as much as Kobe and Lamar.
Im hoping for a Lakers / Celtics finals for old times sake, thats Sterns wet dream as well because that is gonna be a ratings winner for sure.
