There is no thrill to the games. Sure there are very good players in the game, but most of the time it's yawn worthy.
😉
man, i'm a big scottie pippen fan, but did he win anything with houston and portland? kobe won rings with the lakers, and yes you could argue that had had shaq... but pips had olajuwan. all be it an aging olajuwan. plus barkley or drexler were still there too i believe. and kobe was young in those clips, much improved defender now.
one of my favourite moments ever though was pippen with that dunk on ewing, that was just so sick.

Nah, he just won 6 rings with Jordan. Pippen is one of the best defenders in the game and although Kobe was only 18-19, Pippen was over 30 in that clip! Kobe is a better shooter, but Pippen is overall a better player. I'd take Pippen's long arms over Kobe. Not only that, but Pippen played Jordan everyday in practice. one on one. Call me crazy, but I can see Pippen shut down Kobe, while Kobe has a harder time shutting Pippen.
Best slam dunk I have seen for Pippen is here.

I realize it is never called in the NBA but come on. Iguodola mine as well of just picked the ball up with both hands and ran around the guy on that last drive good god that was a massive carry. They should just let them not dribble with the stupid shit they are allowed to do. This is not And 1.
Technically it's not a carry because if you watch the replay, Iggy's hand is always on top of the ball while he was dribbling. Even if he did carry though, as you said, it would never be called in the NBA anyway.

he carries at the 18 second mark, 19 second mark, 21 second mark, and 22 second mark. (basically every time he dribbles) His hand is on the side of the ball at best and partially under it at times.
So mike Brown won COY. As a Clevland fan I gotta say thanks, but there really are better canidates. Mike Brown's coaching hasn't really impressed me that much. I have to admit I never like him much so maybe I'm bias. They need to split the award with Lebron.
I actually think it should have gone to Nate McMillan or Erik Spolstea.

yeah 6 rings with jordan. none without him. i see what you're saying and its a close run thing... if both in their prime, we'd have had some amazing games between them.
that dunk was sick but still not as good as over ewing!!!

Pippen is one of the best perimeter defenders to ever play the game (better than Jordan imo) but he couldnt shut down MJ or Kobe. They are both too versatile with their scoring and both quicker than Pip. I think he would make things tough for both, but shut them down? Nope.
As for Kobe shutting down Pip, that would be easier for Kobe to do because Pip wasnt a dynamic scorer. He was a great ball handler and slasher but his mid range game wasnt that solid and Kobe is much stronger now so it would help in defending his post game. Young Kobe always used to get housed in the post because he was so skinny. It would be easier for Kobe to lock him up than the other way round.
Seeing as we are using highlights to prove our points here's Kobe breaking Pip's ankles (sorry to bring up the bad memories Myth).

Pippen was the second most valuable player on the Bulls. No doubt. Without him, Jordan wouldn't have won. Hell, without Rodman, the Bulls wouldn't have won. And Kobe has yet to win a ring without SHAQ.

Of course Kobe could out hussle and break him during those years. Both in their primes, I'd say Pippen could defeat Bryant one on one. Kobe wouldn't have the patience on defense like Pippen would and Kobe makes more mistakes on defense as well. Just my opinion, but I'd still take Pippen.
BTW, Jordan would school Bryant too. 😉

yeah but kobe has also become a great defender, pippen has size but his scoring isnt anywhere near as good as kobe. have to agree with kool and say kobe would pip scottie.quick question.... can you still get the ewing knicks top over there? one of my top 5 players and would love his jersey!
Pippen averaged 22 when Jordan was gone. Not too shabby. Here is Pippen guarding Jordan at a charity event. Remember, Pippen played him one on one almost everyday during practice. He has experience guarding GOAT.
