Tough loss last night, but being faded helped me put it in perspective. 😮💨
Out of our four main impact players only Lamar showed any signs of life, he pretty much kept the game from getting out of hand in the first half. I cant see us misfiring that badly again, Phil needs to make them watch the start of the forth over and over again until they realise what they did wrong. We have had this habit all season of playing spurts of great basketball getting leads then totally going away from what got us that lead. I thought it wouldnt surface in the playoffs but i guess we needed to learn that lesson one more time.
When we play to our strengths we can beat any team, when we play low percentage ball and relax on defense then we have problems like last night. Kobe refuses to play smart when his shot isnt falling, whats wrong with dumping the ball in the post where we have a huge size advantage. They were doubling Pau every time he got the ball down the stretch, thats high percentage playoff ball - not 20 foot fadeaways when you are ice cold. Bynum wasnt allowed to play either, 5 fouls in 7mins? He needs to work on getting position early and just standing with his arms up, dont go after every block if the refs are on you.
As badly as we played we only lost by 2, that why im not too down today. If we play smarter and have a more consistent effort on defense then game 4 will be a repeat of the 3rd quarter where we stomped the life out of the building. I have never heard the Utah crowd that quiet and it all happened because we played to our strengths.
