Just looking at Kobe's shooting........got to improve. I'd like to see a game like Game 6 in Denver with 7 people in double figures. Great D, but really Orlando didn't show up or hit shots. Lakers got to have a better offensive game Sunday.

Initially thought 6 but after last night I suddenly think this may end in 5.

They did an excellent job on Howard!

kobe knows 😄

No wonder Laker's destroyed the Magic.

LOL. Thats great. Was he mentioned during the game? Not sure if they even know who he is.

Wow. What a beatdown. Kobe aboslutley manhandled pietrus, but he absoulutley dmeolosihed Lee. I mean even friggin luke Walton was taking it to Lee.

Remember, Kobe was 15-29 before he came back in

I'm not sure if he was mentioned or not. But I was surprised when I saw him. Made more sense to why Lakers were playing perfectly.

If its not a dunk or a rebound put back, he's not very skilled around the basket

The Lakers have guys that can play defense

Thats what I say but my boy swears he a beast.

He has a jump hook and a running hook. That is it. That is why I thought it was so funnyhe was beign tutored in post moves by Ewing.

Ewing helped Yao with his shot

He's a beast in the sense that he uses steroids to look like Batista from WWE. Basketbal skills-wise, he's OK. Not Olajuwon, not Ewing, not even Shaq..... yet.

Well the Lakers always come out swinging but I would want to see if they are going to play with that same intensity for 4 more games.

If they play with the same intensity and heart, its goin to be a short series. Kobe is on a mission

I see the Magic goin to double team Kobe and that will only free Pau and Bynum for pin point looks

To be honest, i thought the magics would have done WAY better

Well, he is only 23.

Kobe basically scored whenever he wanted to, they didn't need a better offensive game.

I don't really see how his shooting needs to improve. And Orlando couldn't hit shots because of they Laker defense, they only had a few open shots, which they missed as well, but that wouldn't have been enough to win the game or even make it close.

What a way to open the finals, you could tell by the look on the guys faces when they were being introduced that they were all business. Kobe looked like he might kill someone out there and his performance last night was one for the ages.
What may get lost in all this though is our defensive gameplan and execution. Not only did we play hard on D we played smart and took away all of their 1st options. Drew was awesome, i've been waiting so long for him to have a game like that. Forget the points, his defense on Howard was textbook. People have short memories and forget how good this kid is, he hasnt played well this post season but he is coming back from injury and still learning the game. There is a reason the Lakers didnt let him go when Kobe wanted help, he still has all the potential to be one of the best big men in the game and he learns quickly. Dont forget he had a span where he was averaging 25/13/3 before his injury so he has the skills. I think the Magic will try to move Dwight out of the post in game 2 and involve him in more screen roll action. That way he is on the move and harder for Bynum and Pau to keep a body on. Speaking of Pau he started pretty slow and i wondered if he had psyched himself out, but he soon came round and played well defensively in the 2nd half.
The Magic will come out swinging in game 2 and i expect they will hit a lot more shots. But we have to recognise their weaknesses and exploit them, keep a body on Howard at all times and stick to the shooters. There are only a couple of things the Magic can do better and i believe we can play much better as well. So as long as we keep that focus for the whole game i can see us holding homecourt and putting all the pressure on them.

The Lakers are the better team. Phil will have em ready

If they double team Kobe, he's smart to look inside or outside to D Fish and Trevor

I also liked how the Lakes didn't rely on the 3 pt shot

I'm really not big on Bynum. I just don't see it. I mean he has the physical tools but I don't really see the hunger. Then again I imagine it is hard to be dominant with a guy like Kobe around.
