He doesnt need to be dominant now, he has a very long career ahead of him. Most Laker fans have known he would be special since he dunked on Shaq as a rookie, he does have all the tools and he is being coached by one of the best players of all time. His demeanor does lend itself to people thinking he isnt hungry, but he has that quiet determination like his favorite player Tim Duncan. When he is healthy he is a load, this is all without playing much ball his whole career.

When Andrew is determined and plays to his abilities, he is a talented player. 14 and 10 boards playing less than 30-32 minutes

He was the spark the Lakers needed. The one move faked Howard out of his shoes

LOL. Thats great. Was he mentioned during the game? Not sure if they even know who he is.
Rumor has it that Dana got Fedor the tickets to the game.

I doubt it. Wouldn't make sense. The Affliction guyz probably hooked it up for him.

^ Good to see you posting in this thread man, how ya been?

Who knows, maybe hes planting seeds. Try winning him over (not sure hows their relationship) for when he attempts to bring him back to the UFC.

I'm sure he'll end up in the UFC. Barnett is his last fight for Affliction contract.

as for the Lakers/Magic. I HOPE it goes to game 7.

I agree that it isn't all about chest thumping, and swaggering. But Tim Duncan's ball IQ was through the roof, and he consistently applied it in every game. He didn't do anything dramatic but you knew he didn't make the same mistake twice. So while I questioned his toughness, I can't say I questioned his abilities.

Bynum just doesn't seem to trust himself. His self-esteem is easily rattled and then he starts snowballing mistakes. Bynum seems to be scared that if he screws up he is going to get yanked off the floor, a thought that should be at the back of every NBA player's mind, but it seems to be at the front of his.

I mean I can see that he still has a ways to go. He already has more polish on his post game than Dwight Howard, though he lacks Dwight's physical gifts. He seems like he is the sort to thrive in a really good situation where he is the missing ingredient, like Shawn Marion. A team that needs some extra rebounding, scoring and size in the front court. I just don't know if he is ever going to be that franchise player.

Basically once Dwight puts it all together. (versatile post game, improved passing, better foot-movment on D in the post against taller guys) he will be absolutely frightening. I mean Shaq combined with Hakeem frightening.

All good buddy, the family is doing great. Hang in there man, the money will come as long as you stick with school.

I brought Duncan up to explain Drew's stoic demeanor not his hoop IQ, Duncan is one of the smartest players in the league.
It seems like Bynum is being judged (even by fans in LA) on his performance coming back from injury. This is the guy that dunked on Shaq as very raw and skinny rookie (seriously who else has ever done that?), that didnt crawl into a shell after Kobe wanted him gone for Jason Kidd - he came back to camp ready to show Kobe that he was worth the wait (which he did). He has proved to me at least that he has the mental toughness to succeed in this league, but it is tough for any bigman to come back from knee injuries especially under the spotlight that is LA. I've watched most of his games and i really believe that he can be that franchise player (or even co franchise with Gasol) when Kobe starts to become human again.
He is still really young but he has shown flashes of dominance, his only problems have been 2 freak injuries that have derailed two promising seasons by him.

I've been around, been playing a new video game (mass effect).

Didn't feel like talking about the game. I think that's understandable.

Frankly, the Magic had no rhythm and the Lakers were awesome.

Everything that the Lakers could bring to get a win they brought. Kobe was unstoppable and the D was furious. They made their shots and the Magic didn't. Even when the Magic made plays they couldn't execute (including open shots).

The Lakers just owned the inside and closed it in every time there was a play at the basket. Picking up every rebound available. They spread out the D evenly and played solid. They were the hungriest I've ever seen this team and the Magic were the playing some of the saddest.

Anyways, I guarantee a more focused Magic come game 2. I just can't see them being that bad twice.

The Magic will bounce back.

Gonna be a good game

Lakers should bring their 'A' game, I expect them to win again

Well yes I can agree there. I mean after Kobe threw him under bus he actually came out swinging, strangely so did farmar and Vujachic. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The Magic will make a fight out of it this time around. I think this one could go either way. I hope it goes the Magic's way.

They should play better. The Lakers will have an answer

Not making their FREE-throws cost the Magic this one. That and JJ fails. And I can't believe Lee missed that lay-up. No excuse for that.

Magic played a lot better, just not good enough to win this one.

One might think I'd be pissed (and I am), but I still feel pretty good about this series.

Going to Orlando now.

Lakers win in OT 101-96 😊

Led by Kobe's 29 points, but the gameball goes to Pau Gasol(24 and 10 boards. Lamar led the bench with 19 points and two key FTs

2 more wins....Lakers fans

wow bad calls from the refs. magic got robbed. very frustrating to watch. and howard needs to mature a bit.

I only saw about 2 bad foul calls, the fouls on Pietrus, but Kobe sold the second one good.

But then the ball was off Turkoglu and it was called off Kobe, so...

Glad the Lakes won
