Great article Lakers fans on ESPN
Bold. Even though they haven't played together, I see no reason why the Heat shouldn't be the early favorites over the Lakers. But anything can happen.
I don't know if I want to root for the Heat, or root against them. I ALWAYS root against the clear favorites, and I always root against Lebron. I thought it would be great if he never won a ring in his career. But I also like Wade, and I think it would be really fun to root for this team also. It will definitely be exciting to watch, even for me and I don't even like the NBA that much anymore.
I'm surprised Lebron chose the Heat though, if he wanted to be known as the best ever he would have went somewhere else, because winning with Bosh/Wade doesn't really help his legacy. IMO, it is still Wade's team though.
EDIT: And no, Chicago was not a better choice for Lebron if winning is his concern. This Heat team > Chicago. If he wanted a better legacy though, Chicago would have been the choice.
Yeah, I think that's the main reason why he didn't join Chicago.
He didn't want his career to be overshadowed by Jordan's legacy.. he wanted to make his own legacy.
Besides, it's not like Jordan didn't have one of the best team players in the history of the league.
It was a pretty obvious choice. Clear as day.
Originally posted by DanZeke25It isn't perfect, but I mantain it was the best overall choice of the four listed options.....by alot. It would be a good mix of "legacy" and potential championship sucess.

Miami Pros
*Can't see any team shutting down both LeBron and Wade.
*Bosh is a top 10-15 player in the league.
Miami Cons
*Miami doesn't have 5 players on its roster as of now.
*Technically, even though LeBron is the best player on the roster(Wade is top 3 in the league), it's still Wade's team.
*Both Wade and LeBron are alpha males and LeBron is gonna want MVP's, scoring titles, etc. down the line.
*LeBron's legacy has taken a hit the most it could out of all the choices he could have made. He had to resort to forming a superteam. Garnett won a ring, but will never be mentioned as one of the greatest.
*LeBron didn't stay in Cleveland.
Chicago Pros
*LeBron is the best player on the team. He left, granted, but it'd definately be his team for sure.
*Chicago atleast has a starting 5(and a damn good one at that).
*Derrick Rose has yet to peak. Wade on the other hand has.
*LeBron would still likely win MVP's, and have a legitimate shot at scoring titles here. Can't see this in Miami unless he finds a way to average a triple double.
Chicago Cons
*He'd have no shot at being the best Bulls player ever.
*LeBron didn't stay in Cleveland.
Again, I don't know anything about LeBron's personal life, family, money ambitions(wouldn't he make more money in Chicago?), etc. I'm striclty covering the "winning" and "legacy" parts of the discussion.
Maybe he's more of an achievement-oriented person rather than a money-oriented person.
He's been in Cleveland, playing for 7 years now... and despite being one of the best, if not the best, in the league right now, he still has no rings.
That's not good. If I was a player of his caliber, I would've left Cleveland a couple of years ago. Besides, the coaching staff are also ******... they don't even know how to draft good players in their roster.
