Chick Tracts and the Bible why the discrimination?

What a shitty DM, anyway.

****ing railroad plot.

Yes, I've been lucky, my DM's are all fairly good.

Maybe that is what got Chick started - a bad DM crucified his pathetic Dwarf one to many times, and he vowed to make poorly done comics as revenge, unaware that the result would simply be JesusIsAlive believing them, but refusing to answer questions about them.

*Shrugs.*

He went one direction and then snapped back extremely far to the other, I think.

I consider you one of the more intelligent people on this board because you always seem to have good responses and some people definitely twist them(it's usually the people that I usually agree with ironically). So my question is what you think of the Chick Tracts?

Jack Chick believes he is not only doing God's will, but he is bringing enlightenment to the masses. For this I cannot fault him.

However, his tracts are nothing short of propaganda fueled by distortions of the truth as well as outright misconceptions (I hesitate to say lies, as one must know something is not true in order for it to be a lie). Not only are Chick tracts one of the absolute worst ways to spread the word of God, they are more likely to turn people away from Christianity than to bring them around to it. Despite all these things, there are aspects of Christianity that are accurately represented in the tracts.

Overall, however, using Chick tracts to support one's faith is similar to using John Bascom's Natural Theology in order to support one's views on the origin of species. Except Bascom's ideas weren't wrong at the time of publishing.

Well I won't argue they get the parts about Christianity right, but everything else is a lie, I did research before I came to a conclusion like that because at first he intrigued me. Do you think he is a true Christian though, do the ends justify the means, is it ok to flat out lie?

He is a true Christian, I believe, as his teachings are according to the Bible. I honestly believe that he doesn't he lies, though. Like I said, I think he went too far one direction and then snapped back like a rubberband.

Ah, good ol' Theocratic Dominionism, almost on par with the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints and Christian Identity in it's intolerance of others.

That is actually rather rational, I am reasonable agreement there...

Only finding problem with this. If one accepts he believes the down right falseness he prints then one asks how far is this forgivable - it isn't as people have not proven him wrong again and again to his face (it has happened, plenty of people have debunked his claims.) So not a lie, but his ignorance is unforgivable.

What makes his interpretations so different to any other priest? All priests know the Bible. Not all come to his conclusions.

Jack Chick is not a priest.

Jack Chick is not a priest.

With how bigoted, biased, hateful and ease he tells lies, I certainty hope he isn't.

Jack Chick is not a priest.

But he is a horrible sinner.

Why is Jack Chick so hated? I know what it is: Jack Chick made a tract that addressed the issue of homosexuality. I posted it and that is when all of the controversy started. The name of the tract is "Gay Blade." Chick.com is the name of the site. Don't go to this site unless you want your sacred cow to be kicked over. Jack Chick's tracts are Bible-based and Christ-centered. Jack's tracts are in numerous foreign languages and are designed to cover many areas of human experience. But the focus is on informing humanity of their sin problem. Jack Chick vividly takes you on a journey through his short stories aimed at capturing your attention. Jack' Chick's tracts draw you into many, varied scenarios all with a central message: all are sinners in need of the Savior. If Jack Chick's tracts offend anyone rest assured that is not his intent. The last thing that Jack wants to do is offend anyone. What would be the benefit of that? Don't let the short stories rub you the wrong way. Let the seed of God's Word concerning Jesus Christ and salvation from sin sink into your heart.

Chick Tracts are evil. They blame the problems of life on mythological beings that don't exist. They try to scare people into believing as they do. They teach hate and extremism.

Yeah, if you discount the whole "Christ is God" bit.

People seem to think that God and Jesus are completely separate entities, that Jesus wasn't present in the OT.

They are. Whoever told you that God and Jesus were one in the same is wrong. Plain and simple. Jesus is not god. He is the son of god. One of his Angels.

God is Three Persons yet one God. Jesus is not an angel.

It is obvious to everyone who is not brainwashed. There is no need to prove that the sky is blue.
