I've seen that used so many times by people that think that condones what Lot did. However, the Bible never says that Lot was right in doing so. It just records that he did do it. It later becomes apparent to us that Lot is an idiot anyway. And it gives another hint as to how bad Sodom and Gomorrah was.
Yet, God delivers Lot from Sodom, because he is the only righteous man in the city. 🙄

Because we all know that righteousness equates to perfection.[Insert sarcastic smilie face.]
So then you agree with Nellinator, that the only righteous man in Sodom, the only man that God found fit to be spared from its destruction, is an idiot? What does that say about your God? 🙄
Originally posted by Adam_PoEYes, probably because his heart was in the right place. Much better than the rapist losers left elsewhere in the city. Plus your logic is severely flawed if you consider it a poor decision by God to spare Lot. Obviously he was only one not creating problems.
In other words, of all the people to save from the destruction of Sodom, your God chose an idiot.
Lot = righteous man trying his best to follow god. Lot also makes bad decisions, but God judges the inside not the outside.
You don't think getting drunk and f*cking your daughters is a sign of immorality or unrighteousness? Not even a little bit?
Someone's probably brought this up already, but when faced with a rape-hungry mob, Lot's first instinct was to offer his daughters ("Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes). Do you think offering your daughters up to be gang-raped indicates that your heart is in the right place?

It's because god planned it that way???

First part, that was definitely sinful. And Lot was punished for it.It was brought up. Now it was a dumb thing to do, but were his motivations and intent weren't all that bad. Consider what they might have been.
I realize that his motivations--protecting his guests--were pure. But it seems to me that when you descend past a certain level, having good motivations is no longer enough. You know what they say the road to hell is paved with...

You have to keep in mind the cultural aspects of that time period and place. It might of been normal for such behavior. And if it was normal, then why is he singled out.
...because one might expect that prophets of the Lord and people singled out as righteous by God Himself to be a little ... hm ... better behaved than everyone else?
Not if it's cultural, oh and don't forget Noah..Seems god chooses to save a person only to let them do a deed or so.....lol
Back to Chick Tracts. They are vile scare tactics. I've seen and read many of them in my time. In fact at one point I had ordered some myself. I only ordered a cute one about ants and god....it was sorta cute and not too offensive. These tracts are not about love, they are about scaring people. Devils, fire, torture, demons getting you. It's really sick!!! Sick propaganda.
