Oh yeah, I saw that earlier and meant to quote you on it. You're right, I think... well, there are definitely a few of the veterans who I know aren't malicious but they do tend to rough the newcomers up a little, challenge them in a way. Like I said, initiation process. In one way it's really quite elitist and shouldn't be the norm, but in another respect, why should we open our forum to anyone with the will to abuse it and us? We should have some say in who frequents the place, don't you think? I dunno, it's difficult because I don't want to sound like a hypocrite, I was a weird newbie when I joined. But I think I can safely say that, aside from the hideous 'txt tlk' I used, I wasn't half as defensive as the newbies we get these days.
The whole frasing of the 'higher ups' thing annoys me, there are no people higher up than anyone else, there are just posters who joined at different dates. People get called noobs mainly because they act up with internet bravery or spam or occasionally a genuine mistake and like you say there are people who have been here longer who still act up. I really hate the whole hierarchy type thing which is b******t anyway.
