Someone posted up some of the full songs from Sweeney Todd from a french screener. The dialogue is in French but the songs are still in english. OMG I love this song, it's so erotic in a weird way. I love when Mrs. Lovett smells his hair at the end
Okay, I can't resist ImpPiDiva, who the hell do you suppose actually dresses him? Does he just order 4 pairs of raggedy jeans, about an inch too long--does he shop for himself at second hand clothing stores?
All indications are that his fashion sense(lessness) is all his own, donchathink? This casual manner of attire cements part of my loyalty simply becos it is a style I admire. Comfort!! Ah, what a trip and then he turns around and cleans up like a bandit--thanks for the pics of him just wandering. In that one photo (3rd one?) he is making some Hard eye contact let there be no mistake, and his belt buckle to the side--fine old tradition.
YAY!! Lucky us!! Seems that we could have Sweeney Todd in the comfort of our hands by APRIL 1st which is when Sweeney Todd is said to be released on DVD!!! Official word hasnt been said but retail companies have been told that that is the most likely possible date! 😄

i think i must be the only person here who was underwhelmed by the film 🙁
dont get me wrong, johnny, HBC and the rest of the cast WERE fantastic...but there just wasnt enough 'story' for my liking 🙁
The ending just seemed to me like TB had had enough of editing the film and just decided to end it there ....
What happened to joanna???
I dont know...maybe i need to watch it again to start liking it 🙁

Well, I do agree with the "What happend to Joanna and Anthony".....I just thought the acting was great...but yes the story line did just sort of drop off......I don't know how the original version went....but I was sad that Sweeney never realized that she was his daughter....etc....

And the ending was not very different from the play at all and IMO one of the most amazing parts of the movie.
It doesn't really matter what happened to Joanna. That's not resolved in the play either. It's pretty much assumed she got away with Anthony in both versions.
Were you familiar with the story of Sweeney Todd before? Maybe you do not really get the story overall as a whole.
Before I went to see this movie I really took the time out to learn about Sweeney Todd and I watched the 1982 stage show with Angela Lansbury and George Hearn and the concert version with Patti Lupone (gag) and George Hearn.
And each time I have seen the movie (I've seen it 4 times) since I have discovered something profound that I missed the last time. I went in with high expectations and this movie far exceeded them.
