Every mom would rather not see those kinds of scenes with her kid, lol. I'll tell you, my mom let us watch a movie no matter how violent it was, but God forbid it had some nudity or sex.

haha same here. i was raised on star wars and indiana jones, but growing up we weren't allowed to own little mermaid because of her lack of outfit.

is this rupert friend person still with Keira? Does anyone else think he looks like a bad version of Orlando?

Really? My mum is other way round.. she doesn't really for all the sex & drugs, but when it comes to people getting their heads chopped off.. thats a whole other story.

You know whats really bad? watching a love scene with your 15 year old boyfriend.... just a little AKWARD............... 😉

What I didn't get to do what I wanted was bc of too much homework. There might be other reasons, of course.... I didn't have time to do extra things. As a teen, my parents were suicidally upset at me not being cool, but I just wanted to keep up on the things cheated on my childhood like the new Pixar and hype over Blue's Clues, but not Teletubbies, not over that kind of s***. I hung out with the iKids in theory and kempt them © Actually, I think it's cooler than PotC.

A bad version of Orlando, lol! It's weird watching their scenes together in Pride and Prejudice because it's like watching Will and Liz years and years later, like they were reincarnated...except for all Will's faults, I don't think he would be Mr. George "Pedophile" Wickham.

What do you think the trio would be like in different time periods?

I don't think they're really into the new time period in a leader-istic way.

yeah, P and P is interesting because she and friend seem to have NO chemistry whatsoever--- he's a poor actor, in my opinion-- she totally outshines him. (but then, she outshines orlando as well). he was the one character in that film i didn't think was perfect-- i felt wickham ought to have been much more charming. keira is just such a dynamic actor.

i'd LOVE to see them in a 1920s gangster flick as similar characters.

Heh heh, Jack a gangster and Elizabeth running a speak-easy. He'll come in and discover she has one of those small 1920s guns strapped to her thigh and have highly suggestive talk about shooting people, when in comes Will, the small-town detective in his first time in a big city. He knows he has to shut the place down, but he adores Elizabeth even though he calls her Miss Swann. Then a big gun fight and Norrington will be the police commissioner and Davy Jones some big mafia don that Jack owes a lot of favors to. It could so happen.

I don't like Orlando Bloom very much but I think he was evenly matched with Keira in Pirates. I personally thought Johnny Depp made both of them look like cartoons and he was playing the cartooniest character of the three.

I think that was another reason I never got into Sparrabeth as I said I am somewhat hard on Johnny's lady co stars and Keira IMO couldn't keep up with him.

oh my word i LOVE IT!!!!! We should totally do another series--- a short, sweet, POTC set in the 20s series, with that plot...

Oh jeez, lol! It sounds fun. We could so do it.

I wish someone would make a 1920s movie with a strong female lead. hehe I just want to see it cause i have my own story in my head like that.

Did you finally find..

Setting

No specific date for the film is given, although on the DVD commentary, the scriptwriters reveal they placed the story in a thirty-year environment set loosely between 1720 and 1750. It should be noted also that the writers state they did not intend the film to be entirely historically accurate. However, several historical events can be used as markers to further pin-point the date:

•The use of "Rule, Britannia!" at Norrington's promotion ceremony indicates the film could be set after 1740, the year in which the piece was composed.

•The costumes used by the Royal Navy are in keeping with the 18th Century timeframe. In particular, the buttons on the Navy uniforms are engraved with markings that indicate they are products of the rime of the George Hanoverians of 1714 to 1830.

•The 18th Century setting conflicts with the history of Port Royal, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 1692. Rebuilding efforts were hampered by a second earthquake in 1704. After this, Port Royal's prominence fell greatly, and its former role was largely taken over Kingston Harbor.

I thought it took place today.

Jeezlouise, PiXRo, akward wouldn't begin to cover it--I'm a funny mix of too much is not enough and yet, I get a little flustered when some topics come up--old hippie, hadn't missed much in saying or doing--still, not interested in seeing some activities in "polite society". Not a lot of gross stuff when I grew, now I don't watch it for any reason becos I'm too tender-hearted--flying monkeys in Oz are quite sufficent to my scary needs.

My sister works hard to keep my nieces on the restricted side and I'm glad of it--I have students who are 15 year old "baby sperm donor", with two children from their 14 year old "baby egg donor" (I reject the idea of mama and daddy when they don't act like such). Part of that is what's being allowed at home.

Sorry I brought up the Libertine--I felt like it was a little rough(for me)but the vid by Lyttlewyng was so dramatic and fine and doesn't show any questionable scenes--One scene shows Mr. Depp getting into his carriage to return to London and his position near the king after he had been banished--he does this very triumphant twirl before he finally climbs in the carriage--and looks so very tiny and graceful. He is beautiful even when he plays a flat out yucky man.

😉 Tex..

When he does that whole *-yawn and stretch your arms around her shoulder, pull her closer onto your lap-* (which btw.. is the VERY last place you want to be 😂 ) theeen when things start to get a little spicey you're like *oh um.. chris.. i'm going to get another drink (minus the fact that you've got a glass full of coke)-*

Libertine though was a good movie. Like I said, except that carriage scene....

Too very cool all in all--he's an independent piece of business thinking to encourage your affections--lol--boys/men, reality or crush are such wonders and I'm so glad they exist in this world. Also, at this point for me, glad I am sorta weaned off them for a while...they certainly don't domesticate well, IMHO. But cute and funny, ever so. 😄

Well, legally I can see an R-rated movie but we're really conservative at my house 😉 I didn't think they were graphic at all, but mom would rather me not watch them (and I don't particularly want to watch those scenes with mum and dad anyway, lol)
ha i feel the same way. dont wanna watch those w/ my parents. my mom doesnt even want me to watch Chocolat (but i did anyway..im a bad kid...)

and im 14

Why are you guys so into your parents' movie restrictions? They restrict you for you? Or just say don't watch ratings you're not allowed to see. Wasn't it private already?

And a btw, this is the JACK SPARROW / Johnny Depp Lovefest.

So, whatever that just meant....

Even if we were visiting in the same house, I still find it a dead end topic.

Some of you are 14 and 15, that's neat.

There should be an 18+ thing and etc. then I'm making some new Threads maybe, just to spark the interest somewhere. Anything is always better.... I should be a real Moderator.

I think atm the 23 yr old females wanted something sexy hit up and I can tell you that was not it.

Wooop, but don't all look now.

And get the diff. b/w reading and writing. Get the diff. b/w you and not you. No one there..

This is totally pointless. There's no ppl in the world to talk to. Admit it.
