Hey!!! *waves*

I miss you guys!!

WHAT???? Zac Efron as Will and LIz's kid? NOOO....................I don't want POTC 4 to become a shmaltzy musical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disney execs, please, please come to our forum and see the outrage!!!!! This is too much for me to handle - Will and Liz already killed me and now, this???

lol freedom.

we'll see how it all works out. *crosses fingers* let's all hope it'll be good.

Well, it's hard for me to crush on Efron when he is so much younger than me...it's only Johnny for me.

I don't think any of the rumors of Zac being on POTC4 is true. The only thing we know for certain is that Johnny has inked on to film a pOTC4...the rest...no one really knows at this point. I'm not happy with this at all.....no Keira.....no POTC4......I just want to imagine what happened after aWE in my own little mind...I don't want T and T and Gore and whoever else to screw that up. I love Johnny...and I love Jack Sparrow...but I don't want another Pirate movie...unless we got Sparrabeth...that's the only way I'll be happy with it...and I don't think that's gonna happen.

I thought I was the only one who felt this way! Can anyone name a good series/franchise that has more than 3 movies? Don't count Star Wars because Star Wars is really 2 sets of 3 and the newer ones aren't nearly as good. Not only is 3 a good number to stop at, but after a point, the writing goes stale, people lose morale, and the pressure to top the last movies is greater than ever before. Look at the pattern.

POTC:
1 and 2 are great, 3 is lukewarm

The Godfather:
1 and 2 are great, most people don't really include 3 in the series

Spider-Man:
1 and 2 are good, 3 is more like an episode of Dawson's Creek

Lord of the Rings:
1 is good but slow, 2 is okay but slow, 3 has some really great parts but is really really slow

The point is that different installments have different purposes. The first movie in a series is meant to introduce the characters and the universe. It's usually plot-driven. Look at COTBP, for example. A very tight plot that gives us an insight, but little else, into the characters. IMO, it has more action than the other movies. The second movie usually goes a darker route to provide some contrast and is usually the most character-driven movie. DMC and The Empire Strikes Back are great examples of this. They make you dive even further into the universe of the story and get to know the people in it even better and the characters usually have a gigantic conflict. The purpose of the third movie is to close things up and provide closure. People hardly ever say the third installment is their favorite, but they go see it to see what happens.

So if a series is lucky/unlucky enough to get a 4th installment, what can really happen? Things are tied up by the 3rd movie so they usually go for prequels, like in Star Wars, or make things much later down the road, like Indiana Jones and a lot of horror movies out there like Halloween. Look at the Halloween series. The first movie is great, one of the scariest movies of all time. Fans will watch the second movie because it's a continuation, and the 3rd movie went off in a completely different direction. The only thing that ties these movies together is Michael Myers. Season of the Witch, H2O, and the first Halloween are all very different movies.

So do we want to see Jack like that, is the question. He's one of the best characters and I loved getting to know him for my fic. He's iconic and larger-than-life, and at the same time, very three-dimensional and real. However, most of us also like the ensemble of the POTC movies. Most of us adore Liz, Gibbs, Barbossa, and James. Some of us are okay with Will. At least he provides some conflict, and the great villains of the series, Beckett and Davy Jones, are finished. So it really comes down to quantity of Jack vs. quality of Jack.

sequels seem to be overrated a lot these days...

I agree bwhahahaha

bwa! bwa! she's calling! she's calling!

sorry, OT >.<

just cuz zac is in it doesnt mean its gonna turn into a freakin musical....

lol, yeah, we know... it just seems like he's been in too much musicals, lol...

Well Zac Efron has denied the rumors! He aint in Pirates 4! but he said he is game if they'll have him!

Zac actually idolizes Johnny Depp! So he wont dare turn down the chance of working with his Fav actor if given the opportunity!! I mean seriously....would you?? Ha! I sure as heck wouldnt!! I'd sign the contract in an instant even if they'd only pay me a dollar!! lol...i'd work for free!! The chance to work with Johnny is Priceless!!

so its not true! phew. but, i still wonder how'd it work if he's in it, tho..

i thinkwe all would work w/ johnny for free!!

its Johnny! who wouldn't.. 😍

I Love Johnny!!!!! I miss him! 🙁 I wonder what he did for Halloween?

Knowing him, he probably dressed up as a character and visited a childrens hospital or something as a surprise 🙂

i bet he would. he's so thoughtful that way...wow, quoting Wicked there...

*sighs* I love Johnny!! I just wanna snuggle up in bed with him! lol

maybe he grabbed his Jacky costume and dresed in it for the kids... that would certainly be interesting...

... For halloween???
