Hey guys.. ha i hope those who were here years ago remember me? 🙂
I just randomly thought I'd check to see how this forum is going and I love how my FAVORITE thread is still at the top with over 400 pages!
I saw public enemies the first day it came out and it was AMAZING! i expected no less though 😛
Also in the theater there was mostly 40+ aged people. Was it like this for anyone else? Haha I thought that was interesting, but I guess it makes sense considering the story line.

You have to expect that for a movie set in a historical period people are still alive to have been a part of. I haven't seen it yet, but my mom called me the other day to say she took my grandparents and my brother to it. We're originally from Indiana and I've seen Dillinger's grave. People have stolen chunks off of it as souvenirs at Crown Hill Cemetery...most visited tombstone there. He's something of a cult hero in Indy, even more so than in other parts of the country. My grandpa said that some kids he knew back then said they saw Dillinger walking along the road carrying a potato sack but you could see a great big machine gun inside it...
So they went to the theater and it was filled with older people and it was Seabiscuit all over again. My family tried to watch the movie and kept hearing the older members of the audience say things like, "I remember when we had that..." or "those were the days, when all men wore hats." Different kind of commentary for a movie with Johnny. I can just imagine real pirates who are very very old watching POTC.
"We never did any plank walking. We'd have just shot that whipper-snapper."
"Rum ain't what it used to be. Those were the days, back when you just drank it straight. There wasn't any of this spiced rum or flavored rum..."
"Good Lord, a talking parrot! Have you heard from Yancey the Mute's parrot lately? Is he still alive?"

LOL Willo I love the pirate part. *laugh*
hm, I wonder what sorta audience we'd have here in the Phils.
THE MOVIE THEATER HERE HAS DECIDED TO SHOW OLDER MOVIES ON POPULAR DEMAND AND ON 2 AUG THEY ARE SHOWING A POTC MARATHON!!!!!!!!
I'm so excited. I'm not sure if I can spend all day in a movie theater watching POTC movies, but that may in fact be what I end up doing because do you know how long it's been since I've seen them on the big screen? I've only seen each one once on the big screen. ONCE!
1000: COTBP
1300: DMC
1600: AWE
SOOOO excited. I'll probably spot little details I had no idea were there and the sound system! OMG it's going to feel like those swords are clanging all around me! The music! Squeeeeee!
This one does! I got to pick "themes" that people will vote on, like pet movies or K is for Komedy (comedies that start with K), Men's Names in the Title, Vampires, etc. It was a lot of fun and the fact people voted for POTC just made me warm and fuzzy inside. I fortunately did go to the theater for COTBP back in 2003 and the audience was very involved, laughing, cheering, gasping.
