Yep. He gives interviews an all, but he doesn't usually give much away, and I don't happen to watch nor care for much what the guy says.
If I knew, or at least was under the impression I knew more about his character maybe I could say something, but the only worthwhile thing I can say is that Lucas's sheer presence on the set bores the actors, as it did in the OT too. I guess if he's also directing a whole trilogy himself he must bore them all shiteless.

Maybe... but in the OT days, especially ANH, people thought he was nuts, didn't know what he was doing and his lines stunk. Well, he DID know what he was doing but his lines did stink. The actors changed them a lot. Plus there was Gary Kurtz... once he was gone (after ESB) SW started going down... Now, is there a correlation?
It's amazing though, how in all the dvd features, we see lucas as the all-knowing person in-charge and having final say over everything. I think he got too dictatorial.
Producer Rick McCallum wanted that 'yoda landing in dagobah' 10 sec sequence. Just seconds!! Lucas didn't want it..saying "we all know what happen to yoda..where he end up..we need to focus on the thread of the children." WTH. As if we do not know Leia went to alderaan and luke to tatooine!
Precisely. When i heard he said the line "we all know what happen to yoda", i was appalled. That seem to undermine the entire creation of the PT isn't it??
Don't we know anakin was a great pilot..GL showed it in the PT. Don't we know anakin turn to the dark side..GL showed it in the PT. Don't we know where Yoda went..GL CHOOSE not to show it!!
But McCallum is not a producer in the sense that he is co-creator... He's a good producer but he so loooooooooooooooves everything that Lucas does. I doubt he'd dare to stand up to Lucas. As if those 10 seconds would have mattered much, it doesn't add much, I agree with Lucas, but he's tying up so many threads at the end.. why not Yoda too. He's such a major character in the PT...

I don't think Anakin was shown to be a great pilot. They only things we say him do is spin wildly screaming "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE." Hell, he never actually shoots down a ship. We don't even see him fire his blasters off the ground until ROTS.

He blew up that federation ship..and he did overwrite the cockpit system..to do that at his age is quite gifted i wud think? ROTS he's at his peak!
