Actually, it helps the good members improve. I've heard, from herself, in a n00b thread, that Lana had atrocious spelling and grammar when she first joined. People picked on her for it, she improved, and now she's a mod. The ones who can take it improve KMC.And that usually never happenes if you don't make yourself look like an idiot. I barely got hassle.
What?
Whereever you heard that, you heard wrong, and I certainly never said anything to that effect.
I've always been very particular about my spelling and grammar, nor did I ever act stupid when I first joined - for starters, I joined KMC when I was nearly 18 and had been going on message boards since I was 13. Secondly, I never really talked to anyone until I'd been on the board a month or two - before that I hid out in the Matrix and RP forums.
Nor do I think it's a good idea in any way to bash people who've just joined. I believe that if you want respect you need to earn it, but bashing people for no reason will not earn you any - regardless of how long you've been a member.
As for me becoming a mod - I've been here a long time, I'm an active poster, I'm well-known, I know my stuff, I've always tried to be helpful, and I've contributed a lot to this site in my time here.
