Darth Revan VS Desann

Started by exanda kane3 pages

I think it's obvious here that the game shows Luke's abilities misconceptively. Of course, Luke would beat Desaan, but for the purpose of the narrative, it's shown as a close fight eventually ending with a stalemate.

Desaan loses. BTW, Darth Sexist, are you like a friend of Darth Sexy???

Looks the opposite to me...

Well without Luke's stupid God Powers, he's just like a Mace Windu/Yoda. Desann managed to stalemate Luke, after injuring him, and the only reason he left was because his ship was leaving

Student actually.

Ok, you sure? I thought it was the master that trained him, then he struck him down. I remember it wrong I guess... :/

true.

Huh?

You could say that, perhaps.

Actually, I am his teacher. I found him long ago on a lonely and isolated thread and took him under my wing to train him as a Sith.furious

In the time since, he has steadily become more independent. A trait he has exhibited since his younger years.
Do not mind his bickering though, he stifles under the yoke of my authority.
starwars

The last time a duel took place between us, he ended up on crutches for a week. Couldn't talk either... crutch

Uh huh....yeah.....surrrreee

😛 lol.

It's some moron that got banned, I don't know the kid.

?? Okay ??

Any who; Desann had Luke scared.

"If you run into Desann don't try to face him alone." That wasn't just a warning to Kyle. Then we go forward after Luke vs. Desann Kyle asked why Luke fought Desann.

"I didn't have a choice. I didn't even sense him come up." it seems that Desann was pretty powerful to avoid being sensed by Luke. Not to mention that before the Valley Desann flicked his wrist and brought down a corridor when showing off his powers to Kyle.

Oh and Kyle is not some weakling. His force powers were increased by the Valley. It was very obvious to Luke. And just because one is a dark Jedi doesn't make them lesser then the Sith. Dark Jedi have their own beliefs and rules.

I bet Darth Sexy and Darth Sexist are the same person or good friends.

This doesn't prove that Desann would win. Game mechanics aside, who's to say Revan couldn't bring down a pillar like that?

Luke being wary of Desann as always bothered me. It seems to screw up his own abilities. This is Luke AFTER DE, and yet, even as a master he's still afraid of a fallen student.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if Kyle beat Desann, and Luke is better than Kyle...

oh great, now i'm apparently darth sexiest.. Idiots.

Yes, but we could argue like that with every single feat in Star Wars if we wanted to. No one says that Revan can't do it, however, it is a good feat for a "weak, fallen student".

Well this doesn't matter, everyone seems stuck on the opinion that Desann is a weak ****, so it's totally impossible for Luke to be scared for him.... What if... what if Desann actually was powerful enough for Luke to fear....

Kyle cut down a pillar to crush him while they were fighting. You can clearly see the fallen pillar in the video in the end cut-scene, where there before actually was a whole pillar. I'm pretty sure of this. It doesn't have to mean Kyle>Luke. From what we know, Desann could have had him at his mercy, but Kyle used the force to trip the pillar at him....
Besides, Kyle was not weak at all. He was able to take out Jerec, who by the time he had the power of the Valley, was stronger than Darth Vader was. (He was close to him before). Desann states that Kyle is actually stronger in JO than he was before....

1.) Yes, but we could argue like that with every single feat in Star Wars if we wanted to. No one says that Revan can't do it, however, it is a good feat for a "weak, fallen student".

2.) Well this doesn't matter, everyone seems stuck on the opinion that Desann is a weak ****, so it's totally impossible for Luke to be scared for him.... What if... what if Desann actually was powerful enough for Luke to fear....

1.) I'd trust Revan to be the better "fallen student" in this case. A man with a lifetime of training, plenty of experience in combat, fighting numerous other Jedi and the like, Sith powers and teachings to go along with it. That compared to a guy who had like, maybe a year of training, likely less, plus a short stint as a Dark Jedi. I'd trust the guy with the more experience in this scenario.

2.) Supposition. Like I said I don't like how they made Luke so wussyish in that game. For somone who's done what he's done, he shouldn't be so cautious of a fallen student. This a Jedi Master who seen and faced the likes of DE Palps and such and such, I see Luke's wariness of Desann only as a necessity to keep the game in motion.

3.) Actually when you enter that chamber, their is already a fallen pillar, it didn't crush Desann. For canonical purposes I didn't like that fight either. Desann's death was to vague and Kyle could have temporary God-mode. It's not stated how Desann died, but if it's by a pillar, then that tends to show that Kyle wasn't up to the task.

Even if Kyle could defeat a Jerec with more power than Vader, I have yet to see an argument in this place which proves that Vader could best Revan.

Argument aside, I dislike comparing game characters who have 4000 years between them, it makes this very opinion based. That being said I'd sooner take Revan or even Malak as a bodyguard than Desann. He just doesn't have the proper prequisites I'm afraid.
