USH'S GAME EPISODE III- 'ARTIFACT'. Light Side Area

Still running...and running...and...running...

You've taken about two steps in this time, BB...

Ending up next to the pirate leader, Mah decides to take a stab at him. He twirls his saber, then quickly slashes sideways at the pirates hand, where he's holding his gun, to disarm the foe. after that he keeps on attacking, sidestepping and slashing right, left and diagonally.

The pirate leader tries to take a shot at you, but aborts his attempt halfway as you are too quick. He's fast; he jumps back just out of the reach of your sabre, but you cut his handgun in two.

While stepping to the side of the pirate, Mah takes a 360* swing, and swipes a hard hit at the end of it.

You're not even looking as the swing connects, ending your problems with him.

There is a loud noise and the ship lurches slightly as the pirate's main vessel disengages from the liner- looks like the mothership is bailing out. With their leader dead, their escape route gone, three Jedi in the room and two more (BB and Gundy) just coming to the door now, the others are no longer interested in fighting; bit by bit they throw down their weapons.

"Damn, we missed it!" says Xeth. "Are you all okay? It looks like your injured Mah..." Xeth pushes pirates out of his way as he jumps up and joins Mah, Lance, and Julie. He takes out his Medpac and starts tending to Mah's blaster wound.

Um, now, who is here that was also in game one... a-ha!

Gundy and Lance, while securing the prisoners you soon notice something rather surprising. You both recognise the dead leader, though only vaguely. You spend a little time trying to work out where, and then it comes to you- when you were stuck on the volcano at Jaglon Beta, he was the guy directing the massive amounts of firepower at you.

These are Red Lance pirates! And you were SURE they had been wiped out in that battle! Pelloran must have survived....

Gundark turned her attention to one of the pirates, bound and seated on the floor. "Why did your group attack the Coruscant Star ?" she asked in a no-nonsense tone.

The pirates seem to know very little, having been under the direction of the escaping Captain of their vessel and the now-dead leader. But they were expecting to rendezvous with a slaver ship that never made it.

This is obscene; a slaver operation this deep into the Galaxy. The risk was ludicrous, and while a band of Jedi wondering past may have been even less lucky than they deserve, it could so easily have been any number of military vessels that could have picked up that distress call.

Gundy, out of the corner of your eye you spot one of the 'dead' pirates trying to raise his weapon unseen. As you are re-igniting your sabre in reaction, a blaster shot flies across the room and blasts the man down.

The shooter is standing in the doorway; a man in slightly tattered brown and white clothing, with worn, short curly hair and a scar across his left eye. And one arm which looks slightly odd.
Balek holsters his gun and looks around him.

"You've secured the bridge," he says, matter-of-factly

"You state the obvious, don't you," says Xeth, eyeing the bounty hunter. "And what is a bounty hunter doing on a ship like this?"

Gundark de-activated her sabre as she spoke. "Seems you get around quite a bit, bounty hunter "

"I'm going to Malastare," says Balek. "Hardly a controversial thing to do." He turns to you, Gundark. "I could say the same of you. Me, I like to travel."

"Malastare, you say ?" Gundark queried. "Rounding up some business there or visiting old friends ?"

"Someone to hunt down on Malastare?" asks Xeth. Xeth walks over and stands by Master Gundark. "Dark Jedi possibly?"

"Why would Dark Jedi be on Malastare?" queries Balek (and to your surprise, you sense no deceit. Wait, it shouldn't be THAT surprising; no-one else knows of the possible DJ presence there). "My ship is being fixed there."

"I see," says Xeth. "What type of ship?"

"So you were locked in your cabin along with the other passengers ?"

"It's a private trader," says Balek. "And it wasn't hard to escape my cabin. Am I under arrest, or is there some reason for all these questions?"

"No, your not under arrest. We're Jedi...we're inquisitive," says Xeth with a chuckle. "But, it is odd finding the ship under attack in Republic space. Since these knuckleheads don't know anything, maybe you would?"
