USH'S GAME EPISODE III- 'ARTIFACT'. Light Side Area

The lift starts to go down, taking you away from the battle.

Which leaves you guys, jammed into the lift, Gundy with the Astrolabe.

Which is even heavier than you thought it would be. And still jammed. In fact, you are not sure how it was meant to move at all. It also seems a lot cleaner than the one you saw earlier in the game. In fact...

... this dam thing doesn;t move at all.

This isn;t the Astrolabe! It's a mock-up! All it could do is be a paperweight!

Kellan was stunned. She sank back against the wall of the lift in disbelief. All their effort, their sacrifice, everything they had been through had been for nothing. She looked at Marcus. "We've been had. This Astrolabe is a fake." Kellan hung her head, staring at her dusty boots. This mission was just one disaster after another.

The lift doors slide open at the lobby/garage. You can hear a certain amount of commotion nearby. This large open area, with three garages containing aircars and several walkways, has many of Persis' guards around but they have not seen you as you sneak out of the tactically unsafe lift.

Persis and Ascar are in a small room with perspex walls nearby, with controls in. As you make your way towards them, staying low behind the cover of a walkway rail so none can see you, you hear them talking.

"If they are in the plaza I assume they will break in soon?" asks Ascar.

"There must be 100 police coming this way by now. They caused a lot of disruption on the way here," says Persis.

"Idiots. But talking of the authorities, I assume that ridiculous fake was your idea?"

"I thought it might by us some time."

"To do what?" asks Ascar. Persis shrugs.

"Get the real one off the planet before anyone else gets it."

"And you did not think to tell me any of this?"

"I would have mentioned it eventually," says Persis.

"Yes, yes. However, it HAS put us in a rather uncomfortable position with the Jedi. Hasn't it, Master Gundark?"

Ascar turns his head suddenly towards you, Gundark, seeing you where all the guards have not. Soon everyone is looking at you people.

"Hand over the Astrolabe, Kir. The Dark Jedi will kill you if they find out we don't have and that you've sent it off, and we'll put you under arrest for tricking the Jedi and further disrupting their mission. Or, if arresting you doesn't do anything, I'll kill you myself!" Xeth shouts, outraged that they fought and almost lost their lives for absolutely nothing.

"This DOES seem to be a rather troubling situation," says Ascar. "On the other hand, I cannot be held responsible for anything my associate Persis may have done... I held up my part of the deal in good faith..."

Kellan had had about enough. "Interesting that your offices and museum are nearly leveled right after you step out," she spat at him. "As a representative of the Jedi Order AND a keeper of justice for the Republic, I DEMAND to know exactly what is going on."

"Master Gundark, I am hardly delighted at the fight that broke out after I left. I would remind you that you and your fellows are unharmed whilst the damage to my property may be incalculable."

You all sense a dangerous presence nearby. Persis spins and shoots up into the air vents above, and one of the Miramar falls down onto the ground.

"Hmm," says Ascar. "And who is this?" Persis checks the uniform.

"Order of Miramar," he says. "Bunch of lethal assassins out from beyond the Rim."

"Ah," says Ascar. "Somehow I suspect Kuylen's hand behind this." There is a loud noise nearby that might be made by, for example, a bulkhead falling after being sabred through.

"And I guess that will be Kuylen's friends now..."

Kellan instinctively brought her sabre to life. "You seem very sure about that."

Two rather scruffy looking people ran into the room. One you have seen before- it is Galder, Kuylen's unsubtle man of violence. Galder still wields two sabres, having obviously replaced the one Lance destroyed. The other is an older man you have not seen before, yet he carries a green sabre and you sense great power in him, Gundy.

"Gentlemen, I do rather suspect you are not welcome hear at this time," says Ascar. "Thought I believe it to be the good fortune for the Jedi that they have found two of the desperate criminals they were searching for. You must be delighted, Master Gundark."

Kellan ignored Ascar for the moment. "Where did you boss run off to, Galder ?" she demanded.

Dexx, wants Rex to reply, so we wait. In Lance's absence I am ruling him wounded in the previous fight and so unavailable for you.

This doesn't look good, we can not linger, tho the force will tell us what to do

So what's it gonna be people, are we going to get civilized or does this have to end like it always does : I hum almost unhearable

Galder is eyeing you unpleasantly. The older man speaks instead.

"Our boss' location has no relevance to our current situation, i'm afraid"

"Don't worry about Kuylen," comes a horrible, deep, gravelly voice as the bulk of Chion advances into the room. "Worry about me."

(People should be reminded here that whilst Chion is not quite as big as the cave troll from Fellowship of the Ring, he's not far off. His huge, evil, well-muscled albino mass intimidates just by moving)

He reaches behind him and takes his sabre from his position behind his back, holds it towards the Jedi, and ignites it. His sabre, more claymore in size than sabre, has an odd handle, with two larage spheres that act as grips for his four-fingered alien hands. He holds his sabre up aloft in the air.

The Dark Siders mutter between themselves, as you are. At one point Chion gives the older man a glance so nasty you suspect he might try and strike down his comrade. Galder seems to be venting a lot of anger at Ascar, and speaks.

"The Jedi, eh? What a coincidence. We were just coming to see Ascar as well." Galder looks at Ascar. "So, hand over the Astrolabe and maybe I won't rip off your head as a trophy. It would be rather unpleasant for you, wouldn't it? And now I finally have the chance to kill that bastard Persis..."

"Brave, but foolish, boy, to make such threats with the Jedi staring you in the face," says Ascar. He then gestures over to the 'Astrolabe', that you have put down behind you. "But you can have that if you want it."

Takuan speaks to Ascar.

"i don't assume you're in a much better position than ours towards jedi.
well..then, glad to see we have no trouble about the oject" says Takuan already inflicting a flow that raises and approaches the astrolabe towards them.

"what made you change your mind?" he asks

Almost unbelievably, he starts to float the 'Astrolabe' towards him, as if (if you actually carerd about it) you would not stop him. You may want to stop him anyway lest he learn that you do not care about the fake.

As Takuan starts drawing the fake Astrolabe to him, Mah uses the force to pull it towards him instead, struggling to make Takuan loose control and make it difficult for Tak. to pull it to himself.

Galder speaks.

"Okay, Ascar, I sense somethin fishy here. Giving the Astrolabe so freely? Not in your character, Ascar. Not at all."

Then the 'astrolabe' clashes loudly to the ground as you bugger up the lift that was bring it over, Mah.

"So, the Jedi want it too? Where we're headed you'll find nothing of your interest." Galder speaks uncertainly, one blade pointed towards Ascar (though with quite some distance between them).

Xeth ignites his lightsaber as well, just in case. He twirls it around idly, something he is prone to doing when angry or nervous. And was definately not nervous.

"You are outnumbered, Dark Jedi. Surrender, and your lives will be spared," says Xeth. "If you're lucky you will be kept in the prison facility of Oovo IV for the rest of your life."

"I hear they have sunny beaches on oovo," says the polder guy, with a chuckle.
