"Unfortunately," says Torn, "it grows more complicated still..."
Grevor Scovione starts to talk.
"My padawan and myself have been dealing with the rising problem of professional bounty hunters, nearly all of whom break any number of laws but are near impossible to convict. An interesting side effect of the situation just described to you is that an enormous bounty got taken out on Kuylen and his followers by Faylar, who had the gold and needed a way to have these enemies removed. It didn't save him, but the bounty remains and, according to my invetigations, has been honoured by Pelloran. So far so good, but sadly it does not end there. It seems thwe Pelloran took the destruction of his base and most of his clan rather personally. He has extended the bounty to cover ALL his enemies that were there- not just Kuylen, but also Master Gundark and several members of her team."
"Well," says Scovione, "we know of at least one bounty hunter who has picked up the contract. His name is Balek and we believe he is tracking the Jedi now. But until we can prove anything illegal against him there is little we can do. Gundark is an old friend of mine so I plan to journey to meet her and tell her of the situation in person. Maybe you could stay with her and protect her team? She can take care of herself but we have no idea what might happen should they edn up in a dangerous system."
"There IS a major complication..." says Trorn.
"Actually," says Trorn, "the will of the Council is very much the current complication... you see, the Council forbade further attempts to find Kuylen. It had only, to that point led to death and loss, even to the Order itself. As he vanished after leaving Damagran it was decided that unless he was seen to pose a further threat, no more effort shoudl be expended in finding him.
"But then the Supreme Chancellor himself intervened. Through his sources he had discovered, apparently, that Kuylen is on Malastare, and he has dispatched, on his executive authority, Master Gundark and her team to go and find him. The Council is fine with this so long as Kuylen's location IS accurately known. But too many complications and the Council may call for the mission to be abandoned entirely."
"I will be simply issuing her a warning," said Scovione. "There can be no objection to that. And Master Marcus here will be carrying on his investigation into the Red Lance, seeing this is the only lead we have."
"Hmm..." says Trorn. "I am loathe to interfere with an execuitve investigation without permission from the Chancellor's department."
"Then get it," says Scovione. Trorn seems to dither.
"hmmm, I know that is not my place to judge the judgement of the council or of the chancellor, but I think that I could really help master gundark and the other jedi and at the same time conduct my investigation. We have seen the effect of sending to lil' of jedi's to solve a problem in the past. But I have all confidence in the council and the chancellors office"
Gundark noted that mah and phinney had taken cover behind some crates partway into the landing bay. She and Lance were still at the open hatchway of their ship, deflecting plenty of laser fire themselves. She pulled out her comlink. "Xeth, you planning on landing soon ? We need you to take out these heavy guns that have us pinned down. Preferrably now," she told him urgently. The longer this delay, the more the chance they would miss catching up with Kuylen on Malastare. The thought of returning to face the Supreme Chancellor empty-handed after receiving an executive order from him was more than she could bear. She wondered what these pirates were after, exactly. Money, assassination, the Coruscant Star itself ?
Ok, Julie is keeping the fighters at bay, Xeth is sweeping in now, Mah and Phinney are outside the ship, under fire by pirates and seeing one pirate armed with a lightsabre, the other Jedi are in the ship still...
Phinney, this is a docking bay- it is VERY large and open.
Xeth, you are clear for your attsck run but you had best make it surgical or you will trash the bay which won't be much good for your friends!

Fire- the decision is eventually made to contact the Supreme Chancellor's office and for the two of you to talk to him yourself.
