Thor/Hercules are both physically stronger than Hulk. There was a time when the Hulk beat the crap out of all the avengers until Thor showed up. Knocking Hulk back doesn't make Thor stronger. The fight you're referring to is HULK #300. The blow was actually a hammer shot and it didn't do any harm to the Hulk and he was right back on his feet despite getting slammed headfirst into an adamantium statue. Hulk and Thor were portrayed as more or less equal in that battle.

In their last fight, Thor all but stated that the Hulk is the stronger of the two.
