Spiderman never laid a hand on Ben, so it didn''t matter about any power strength whatsoever. It just matter that Spidey easily dodged him, tired him out, and tossed him easily(which he can still do, since Ben is much less than Spidey's lifting limit). Spiderman knows how this stuf works, and will easily be able to out-dodge and out-skill the Thing.
Spider-Man isn't stupid enough to think punching the Thing would be a good idea... he'd only hurt his hands. He's far more likely to use the environment against him.... and also using Thing's weight against him by throwing him around
Really though... are Thing's eyes super-durable or not?... they look fairly normal most of the time
Spidey's punches clearly did affect Ben in that MTU fight. His hits have also affected Thor 2, Surfer, Firelord (like every single time they fought), Namor, Grey Hulk, Deathlok, She-Hulk, full power Wrecker, Sasquatch, Abomination, etc.
His ability to wear top tiers down with enough hits via speed blitz is fairly consistent. He once hurt his hand hitting an amped Man Mountain Marko to no effect ... Then proceeded to wear him down with a long speed-blitz, until finally KOing him and drawing blood at the end of the fight.

Spidey wins the majority.
Spidey isn't going to get hit by Ben, unless he wants to. He's been shown to dodge the entire Fantastic Four before, let alone Ben by himself (who'll look like he's moving in slow motion to Petey.)
That being said, obviously Spidey's fists aren't going to hurt the Thing. However (and this is especially true if they're fighting in, say, the city), Spidey will be able to use his webbing along with the environment to put a hurting on Mr. Grimm.
We can also look at Spidey's recent fights with Morlun as an example of his stamina. Even though he was getting drained of his energy, he was fighting for at least a day straight, and that's full-out fighting (getting beat up and all).
It's definitely going to be a long fight, but after a while, I have to say Spidey's going to wear down Thing using tactics and the environment, and eventually score the KO.

Thing actually can be harmed by Spiderman punches, though. Spidey has been able to knock out guys like Mountain Man Marko("Who Kidnapped Mary Jane?" storyline) who, at the time, was put down as over class 50. And this was not just a big fight thing, either. Spiderman actually knocked Marko out in less than one panel! He was also able to punch out Scorpion, Rhino, and Whiplash at the exact same time! He is actually really powerful overall.

I think it's just harder due to the rules, because in the comic, Thing would never beat Spiderman, and it isn't PIS. Is just that Spiderman has too many options for Ben in a typical New York environment, and would beat him everytime. The forum makes it a deathmatch.
