So, I saw the interview today with Matt Lauer.

For those of you who saw it what were your impressions? How do you think she came across? Do you agree with her so called excuses...err...I mean reasons for doing it (no pun intended...on 2nd thought...well maybe 😉 )

For those of you that aren't familiar with this story. This is about the Florida female school teacher that had consensual sex with a 14yr old boy.

Anyway, thoughts? Do you think it's right or wrong? Do you think she should have done jail time?...etc

Did she sleep with a 14 year old? Yes.

She should have done time in jail. "consentual" doesn't apply with a 14 year old. As long as the 14 year old is female.

If a male teacher were to screw a 14-year-old female student, he's suddenly the worst person walking the face of the planet. But if the genders are reversed its not a big deal and becomes comedy material for all the late night hosts.

Yes it's ****ed up. It's a double standard on a kind of "back of the bus only" scale. (okay, not really) But you get my point. And look at 14 year olds. I seem to remember the girls being much more mature than the guys were. We were still laughing at fart jokes and ambushing the teacher. Where's the justice?

Agreed. The kid could have loved it, but when, say, his parents found out, they could have taken it further. There was a case here a year or two ago, a 15 year old boy persued a 35 year old woman, who was his teacher. They had sex many times, and when the boys mother found out, she called the police, and pressured her son, trying to make him feel guilty. The boy, now 17, and his teacher are stilll seeing each other, and he hates his mother for ruining his life, and putting him through a trial, when he never wanted it.

She should have been given a medal, not punished.

yeah......I know, double standard.....and I blame society. Young girls are raised to believe in love, looking for Mr. Right and all that B.S......so when a much older man has sex with them, it is taking advantage of them as their motives are strictly sex and not those which the girl is looking for. Young boys.....it's all primal instinct. They want some poon. They are not taken advantage of as they aren't looking for "the one true love" or Mrs. Right. They're looking for Mrs. give me a bj.

god bless this woman for making this young man's dream (and mine) come true.

if it was a male teacher, the question wouldnt be "is this wrong" but rather "should he be executed or just castrated".

again.....double standard. Ofcourse it would be different for a male teacher, female student. Young girls are raised to believe in love, Mr. Right and all that crap........whereas the teacher just wanted sex. he would definetly be taking advantage of her.........using her for his own personal satisfaction with no regard to her motives.

more like the psyche of a boy is expendable, whereas the psyche of a girl is so delicate and fragile that the same scenario would leave them scarred for life. both outlooks are horseshit imho. i do think its wrong and i think anyone who would climb that far down the tree of youth should face charges, however i wish we could live in an evenhanded society, rather than this one where the young boy would get a pat on the shoulder and a young girl would be treated as a rape victim.

it's all about learned behavior from society. A young man is expecting sex. He got it.......so no harm, no foul. I don't see the crime nor the abuse. A young girl is expecting love, intamacy, dating, relationship which a man was never intending to give her, just using her for sex. The abuse in that situation is crystal clear.

If you want to be technical, it's all a bunch of horse shit. Human beings become capable of reproduction at an early age. The only true sex crime would be that inflicted against a person who is not yet capable of sexual reproduction. If you believe in evolution....human beings evolved to be sexually capable at this young age for a reason. If you believe in god, god made human beings sexually capable at this young age for a reason. If I breed my 4 year old dog to my 1 year old *****.....my dog isn't a child molestor. He is simply a sexually mature animal having sex with another sexually mature animal.

sex in itself is not damaging, but the probable manipulation which goes with it probably would be. its more about the motives and predatory nature of the one pursuing them. sex in itself is just sex and imho harmless to one's psyche so long as its consensual.

It wasn't really meant as a gripe..........but it just urks me a bit when I use a word, a real word, not slang vulgarity, a real word........correctly to diferentiate between the male and female of a species, the sole purpose for the word's creation in the first place, a scientific term.....but KMC filters it......

I think it is pathetic how she blames her mental condition for her behavior instead of just admitting that she was horny.

Anyway... I don't think she should get any special treatment.
