when she held it, it did a similar thing to what it did for Jack except it wasnt as rapid..pointing between something she's familar/comfortable with and something "new and scary" to her. It pointed to Jack and it pointed to the means to save Will (chest)
with Jack it ponted to Liz (new and scary) and to the furthest away from (remaing a pirate on his own what he's familiar with)
