One could extrapolate that the classifications of certain in marriage sexual acts as sins are due to the residual effects of the early Church authorities attempts to integrate themselves in as many aspects of their followers lives a possible.
By limiting action and behaviour and the way in which one could act correctly control is maintained. They probably feared a slippery slope/domino effect kind of situation:
"...we start letting them have sex for fun in marriage, and they might start doing it outside marriage, then we will have people thinking being gay is fine, then we will have people marrying their lawn clippings... and then no one will give us money. Nope, we need to clamp down and keep sex as non-fun as possible. And then when they break down and have fun sex they will feel bad, and they will need to come to us an ask for forgiveness because they gave in to temptations of the flesh! Genius!"
