One could extrapolate that the classifications of certain in marriage sexual acts as sins are due to the residual effects of the early Church authorities attempts to integrate themselves in as many aspects of their followers lives a possible.By limiting action and behaviour and the way in which one could act correctly control is maintained. They probably feared a slippery slope/domino effect kind of situation:
"...we start letting them have sex for fun in marriage, and they might start doing it outside marriage, then we will have people thinking being gay is fine, then we will have people marrying their lawn clippings... and then no one will give us money. Nope, we need to clamp down and keep sex as non-fun as possible. And then when they break down and have fun sex they will feel bad, and they will need to come to us an ask for forgiveness because they gave in to temptations of the flesh! Genius!"
In the past there have been various acts viewed as dirty or some other negative connotation. Oral and Anal sex are placing the mouth or penis where waste is evacuated, hence a "dirty" connotation.
It is easy to see where counsel against such activities may originate, particularly if lack of cleanliness led to health issues among a group somewhere.
As to masturbation, I am unsure as to how this would come to being viewed as wrong, other than the fact that it is basically an idle activity for a single individual.

Can you role play as Jesus and Mary and do it???
So you'd be acting out your divinely incestuous fantasies?
I think I'd prefer something a bit more Greek. At least that way grapes and body oil might be suitably involved.

Maybe, but I am cynical, and there seems to have been to many cases where the Church limited activities based upon trying to enforce a limit of action.
Besides, cleanliness wasn't always important to them (certainly not before the Crusaders when bathing wasn't that hot) - and the kissing of relics - sweet heavens the diseases that would have spread, kissing a rotten finger bone a thousand others have slobbered on. Not good at all.

Now there's a sex idea: dress up as Ares and Aphrodite......hmm
If sexual activity outside of marriage is sinful, then masturbating by yourself is sinful.
Any sexual activity not done with your husband or wife is sinful, that includes sexual activity with yourself as sinful as well.
And if you cannot find someone to marry, then you should never have sex or masturbate....EVER 🙄

Well, technically, you shouldn't anyway.
