yeah lol
its not meant to forshadow Will's death its Jacks death..and IMO its suggesting that Jack is her true husband in her heart..she just needs to realise it..or maybe she kinda does??
I get the feeling that she wanted Jack with her in the cell whilst all those men were trying to grab her..whistling..cuz the dog should be there to make them whistle at him instead..remove danger from her..and who usually saves her from situations where she cant escape herself?
JACK
Jack = the woof woof
dog wasnt there..he SOULD be there to save her from the men and the cell
but he's not
Jack usually is the one there to save her from that kind of situation
but he's not there..her protector/true husband is NOT there..he's on her mind IMO
LOL thanks kate 😮
and chiki:
yah that little line about being widowed before marriage suggests that she's widowed from Jack before the marriage to WILL in the opening scene cuz she looks like she's at a grave then we see Jack floating in a coffin on the sea (lost at sea) and in the ending scene its the real deal Jack is dead..her husband his dead and lost at sea, she's widowed from him..and she goes in SEARCH of him(kinda like she did earlier although that all suggested fate and destiny etc), At the end of DMC she has Will with her and its before the marriage..meaning Will is not her true husband, she's widowed from Jack here
..she's widowed from will in 3 AFTER he marries her..cuz he turns into Davy J as soon as he marries her..Now she's free to be with her true husband..the one in her heart..cuz i cant imagine jack marrying her but she is married..its kinda like a symbolic thing IMO
her true husband in her heart be Jack because she was widowed from him before marriage..in BOTH scenes lol..although the first is more suggestive of fate etc..just like everything else in the story till the end
woah i love that. "till death do us part"...
and in that "choke on it" scene where Jack remarks that he has already taken Elizabeth's secret to the grave... i think that has a double meaning. Jack of all people can see the true depth of Elizabeth's passion, and I think he is disappointed in her for not acting on it, or being honest with herself about it. So that line, "I'll take that secret to the grave... I already have..." to ME, indicates that Jack will keep Elizabeth's secret of how much she cares for him... AKA, Jack (as usual) is not pressuring Elizabeth, he is letting her find her own way to him, even if that includes denial and a marriage to someone she may not love.
but Jack is KEEPING that secret, meaning he is not forgetting it or denying its existence. its going to hang between them until one of them does something about it....
yeah 2 both^^
its like its her secret and his, that he is her husband at heart and IMO always has been...she's widowed from him 🙁..
she just needs to come to him..IMO she will after Will goes..her character acts on impulses alot doesn't she? It explains why her emotional battle seems so cold towards Jack when she's trying to not let him in..
when It was Jack at that stage..he was very sneaky..he wanted her but at the same time didnt..he kinda used her a bit for his own gain..its the battle between something new and old in each characters mind
with Jack it was caring about material possesions and my own skin VS caring for Elizabeth..in the end it was Liz..and Tia LEAD him to her
With Liz its feelings for will VS feelings for Jack IMO..and accepting them!..Tia LEAD her to him
with Will its be with father or be with Liz?..Tia lead him to him and the ship!!
okay back to what i was saying about those doubles meanings in that scene... i think this is also Jack's subtle way of saying, "I would die for you... and I already have. You are worth fighting for and dying for to me."
I know Will constantly asserts that he would die for elizabeth, but Jack actually DID die for her...
