but the way he gets close its like he is reassuring her after her "I dont trust you"... "we are peas in a pod, you can trust me" I don't know why thats just the vibe I got.
Its like she's caught up because Jack is basically coming on to her..saying he's her soul mate..and he's not even that close to her yet.
I think he knows that as soon as she burned his rum he had found his equal.someone very special..he's taken a shine to her..and this throws her a tad....and she;s like "wow Jack is calling me his soul mate?"
I think the ones that argue that Jack and Liz could never get along because they are too much alike..is just lame...I think that's why their relationship would be hot...cuz they would constantly be trying to outsmart each other..or they would be a great team to outsmart the EITC or somehting...oh well...Long live Jack and Liz...i sure hope this ships sells forever onto that horizon and never sinks...

Exactly...that would explain why he is knows how they really feel about each other...maybe he saw more of that exchange than we know about...in COTBP....
Gosh, I just love that movie...watching it again...Jack was so awesome and it reminded me all over again why I fell in love with these movies...and for me...it's all about Jack, baby.....what happens to Will...I really could care less and I'm being honest....well, I do wish he and Jack could be friends again and he accepts that Jack and Liz are meant to be and he is just a childhood friend, a first love..not a true and lasting love.
I loved the scene In COTBP when WIll and Jack are checking out the crew Gibbs has recruited in Tortuga...that is one of the best....Jack is soo handsome and funny and charming in this....oh man, who am I kidding...Jack is hot, funny, charming, sexy, beautiful, magnifying, etc...in every fricking scene he is in...hands down...
If that was him just saying "I don't trust you either but I like you" then she wouldn't have been looking at him like that, previously he was saying how much he admires her. He was basically showing a great interest in her then he comes close and practically calls her his soul mate and she was thrown by it there.
Later when he's leaving and singing the song she taught him. When she burned the rum and screwed him over..its obvious that is the main reason why he is SO smitten with her...had that not happened I doubt he would be so infatuated(the writers deliberately wanted to make her his equal even in movie 1)...Also the time he spent with her adds to it but Its all to do with what she did with the rum in movie 1 hence the "why is the rum always gone"..He left movie 1 with more than the horizon on his mind. He had Elizabeth on the brain.
That ending is really subtle but it ties in straight with the start of movie 2..IMO they even sneakily matched the compass thing to fit with Jack's ending to movie 1..where hes singing the song she taught him on the beach..smiles, looks at his compass snaps it shut and heads for "uncharted waters" according to the script..IMO that is a VERY strange term to use..that usually means a person is entering "unknown territory"..in Jack's case...he's actually got a woman on his mind..and she's NOT leaving it even when he leaves her!! since when does that ever happen with Jack?
Also notice when Norrie says "this is where your heart truly lies then?" and Elizabeth says "It is" norice how the Whelp wasnt even IN that shot..It was Elizbaeth and Jack in the shot which I find really funny.
I dont understand this scene bc after Norrie said "you forget your place Turner" WIll said "Its right here bewtween you and Jack" This is the part when elizbaeth said "As it is with mine."SOmething along those lines. Norrie"so this is what you heart truely lies?" Liz "it is" like Lovely said. And notice she didnt say, "Norrington you're a great man, but I dont love you in that way, I love Will." How come she didnt admit to ppl That she loves Will. SHe never once mentioned I love you Will. THat seems so funny to me. And notice how Jack looks at her after her response to Norrington..

So IMO its like..ok screw you my pearl is coming thats so much better! I only ever wanted that anyway! (yeah right!)
but then he starts to sing her little song she taught him on the preal and smiles..she's still on his mind(he's met someone special in her)..later on in movie 2 he has his damn pearl and guess what..he's not happy he has Elizabeth on his mind
Its like at the end of move one..He left with his pearl but he actually left knowing he had found someone special in Elizzabeth but right now..he's rather be "free"(FOR NOW)..and that is REALLY easy to miss in movie 1 cuz it seems as if he only cares about the pearl through out much of it but NO..Jack had deeper layers..even back then with movie 1..he's not THAT one dimensional you know...ya stubborn W/E shippers 😂
I caught that scene right in an instant, I was like why are they pointing at Jack? There are a million signs in COTBP that pointed to J/L thing
ARGHHHHHH People are to blind to see, they can't just accept it. You don't have to be a film studies student in order to notice this. No offense Lovely 🙂. But come on they will say that we are over-analyzing the movie.

Thats because hes one, truly, and valuable pearl is Liz.
you even see the dog do this in movie 1^^
he's about to accept the bone..he's tempted but then he'd rather cling onto his keys and run away..despite showing that when its with one person..the dog will DROP HIS GUARD for them...when there are MANY PEOPLE AROUND HIM?? Nope he wont budge...Jack even says "you can do that all you want that dog is NEVER going to move!"(dont lie to yourself Jack..we all know you want the damn bone!"
there are lots of people around Jack in this scene remember..he's "gotta keep up his image"..so what does he do? He takes advantage of the situation and adds to his "legend"/image...right now thats still more imporatnt to him than possibly sticking with Elizabeth (but lizzie is in his system now..hence the start of movie 2)
