Who is Marvel's Wonder Woman?

Started by Entity6 pages

Alot of people may dissagree with me but i still hold that Ironman is deffently marvels Batman.
Both billionairs with to much time on their hands both fund the elite superhero team both always coming up with new toys and both repersent the hero we don't want to belive we need because we don't like the fact the world is not black and white but only shades of gray and to beat the darkness u have to get a little dirty.

Superman=Captain American definitly truth justice the american way both have a black and white view of the world and both are the ideal hero the one we can trust absolutly and both are blinded by their arrogant faith in a corrupt world (thou caps became more and more aware of the reality as his chariater progresses)

When has Batman ever put his money into the Justice League?
Besides, Tony is just an electronics genius & playboy with little physical training, who does the hero thing out of some obligation. He's not obsessed like Batman, who can't even think about a relationship because he wants to fight crime and be intimidating 24/7. The only thing alike about the two, is that they are good-looking bachelor billionaires.

Wolverine is honestly the best Marvel Batman.

They're both masters at h2h.
They both are 'dark' superheros.
They both have homicidal arch nemesis'
They both have non-major powers (when PIS isn't involved)
They both have shady pasts
And the list goes on...

Hell, they were even amalgamted together to make Dark Claw for amalgam comics because they're characters fit so well. (I love Sabertooth and the Joker making Hyena)

Where do u think they get the funding for the watchtower and all thoses security systems they put in all the JLA families homes. I don't recall hearing about a raise money to promote people with powers campaine?

And the differences between Bruce and Tony are what make them different and not the same damn person all the marvel versions have marvel tweaks just like the DC versions have DC tweaks thats why Tony is so social and loves the ladies they took Batman and fliped that part of him completely.

Wasn't he responsible for their satellite headquarters? Look at how they deal with their "friends". Both are extremely paranoid and have contingency plans. Both can get carried away with their plans (Bruce with his planbook, Tony with his DNA samples)

Thank you

Excatilly what i was think and trin to say

In terms of recognisability etc as opposed to powers, I'd honestly say MJ.

Maybe Aunt May.

With characters like Moon Knight, Daredevil, The Punisher, and Wolverine around, how someone can so fixate on Iron Man being Marvel's Batman is beyond me.
Heck, in Amalgam Iron Man got merged with Green Lantern.

Agreed. 'Thor Girl' has got to be the lamest name for a female counterpart, especially since there is no 'Thor Man.'

Something like Valkyrie would have made a much better name.

Maybe she should just go by her real name, Tarene.

It's hard to find true one to one comparisons, because you need a female with around Class 100+ Super Strength, Durability and power of Flight. You can argue Thor is a male version of her - then again, Thor is also a stand in for Superman & Captain Marvel. Marvel's deliberate analogue character - Princess Zarda/Power Princess - is on the periphery in a separate universe.
As with Superman & Batman, Marvel has spread aspects of Wonder Woman - powers, personality, position of influence - through many different characters. Who could claim to be the one?

They include:

Storm
Miss Marvel
Thor Girl/Tarene
Valkyrie
Thundra
She Hulk

I like the Thundra connection, but she is probably more akin to Big Barda at DC.
Miss Marvel may seem the closest right now. Like Wonder Woman, she wears a costume that makes little sense. 😛

Tarene actually has the most potential; she downgraded herself from a Skyfather-level being to become a female Thor. She just needs more experience.

Thor

On one hand, Thor could be the right answer.

The question is, who would be considered Marvel's mightest female - below someone like Phoenix-level Jean Grey or a herald level being like the female Nova?

Why does there have to be a strict correspondence of characters between the two companies? Isn't it better for their characters to be different and original?

Yes, sure. I know when you talk about the holy trinities of the JLA & Avengers, it's Superman-Batman-Wonder Woman & Captain America-Thor-Iron Man; the parallels aren't quite exact.
I just think back to the first DC/Marvel: Access miniseries with the fan voting, and they companies selected Wonder Woman to fight Storm. Storm won only because of fan voting; she would lose to Diana in a long, drawn out fight for sure. So I'm wondering who should truly have been her opponent? A woman capable of matching her, and possibly defeating her...

😂

Past me is still pretty cool. I occasionally find old posts/threads, and it's always more awesome than I remember. I think I've actually gotten far less awesome as a poster as my knowledge and cynicism has increased.

on a serious note I think Captain Marvel would be a better answer than WW
