LMAO...ya wouldnt want to risk that....lol!!

but i guess its worth it for jack/liz sake lol

LovelyOne, I don't see how Ted's quote helps you out at all...here is the full quote from KTTC, where Ted posted it:

And, as long as I'm breaking silence on the compass, let me just say: there's no transference. If it points to a waffle, it's not pointing to the waffle because you're hungry or because you really want to be Belgian or something; it points to the waffle 'cause what you want most is that waffle.

Of course, if you've been hungry for a while, anticipating the most delicious meal you could ever imagine, and for some reason you couldn't partake of that meal, and then you found yourself in the presence of a very interesting waffle ... well, that doesn't mean that you suddenly think the aforementioned meal would not be delicious. It just means that, right then, that waffle seems pretty tempting.

Does that make you a terrible person?

What I have taken that to mean is you might be TEMPTED by the waffle, but that is not necessarily what you might want most in the world. You want the feast, but you might try the waffle, just to see what it's like.

That does not, to me, say anything great about J/E ending together. It means Elizabeth is tempted by Jack, but what she really, truly wants, is Will.

Anyway, yes, the Jacket is the one Will is wearing in the second half of the movie. I love it!!! So nifty.

Will has a lot of cute, funny or OMG!He's so hot! moments in the movies. Like when he first comes out of the water in DMC after swimming to Cannibal Island...So nice.

And guys, PLEASE...stop talking about Jack in this thread! Seriously. You have all your threads, let those of us who like Will have this one. Please.

I'm going to finnish arguing my point seeing as you just tried to prove me wrong..^^

The temptation/lust of wanting to taste the waffle/Jack has nothing to do with why the compass is pointing at Jack simple as. Its quite clear from what Ted says.

The compass is ONLY pointing to the means to SAVE Will..and once she's lead to it and is standing on top of it..the compass need not point to that anymore..so where does it point? Jack of course.

this explains the end..she saves Will..has him with her the all she can think of is Jack 😄

She saved Will which was what she wanted most in the world..but in doing so she just lost the man she wanted most in the world.

Only points to Will so she can have him safe and sound. Now that her heart has setled with that its now pointing at Jack bc its her hearts true desire. The compass points to what ur heart wants, it cannot detect ur hormones or when your pants when ur horny for someone.

Never said lust has anything to do with Jack and Elizabeth. I'm sure there's more to her attraction to him than it being just a physical thing...but what Ted is saying is that since you can't get to the feast (Will), then you might just be tempted by that interesting waffle (Jack).

But that doesn't mean that you don't want the feast. Savvy?

Feast=Will
Waffle=Jack

But, that doesn't mean that she doesn't want the feast. It just so happens that the feast is out of reach. And we never see where the compass points AFTER Will shows up.

Speaking of which...Will looks really nice coming out of the water.

Have any of you heard about any signifigance from Will wearing that necklace of his, or is that just Orlando adding a bit of himself to his character?

But If she really desired and wanted the feast so bad. She would have never be tempted by the waffle, regardless the situation. But since she has dessires for the waffle, she was tempted and attracted to it.
savvy??

She's set to eat the feast..she's ready for it..starved..she cant eat it Jack/waffle comes along..(the most interesting and tasty part of the meal) and she wants it badly because she's not allowed to eat the meal after being starved.....The waffle is gonna taste 1 billion times better than the meal if she tastes it before she eats the meal (who goes back to the meal after eating the pudding first?)..She tastes the waffle and what do we see? I see her breathless, weak in the knees going in for more..smething I never, ever saw her do after kissing Will...

I agree. her lust for Jack seems to be way more mature than her feelings for him but they are there..and they scare the crap out of her it seems.

dont change the subject.

elizabeth had the feast/will. She had all that she can but what caught her attention was a specific waffle/Jack.

She could stuff her face with all that feast but no matter how much she fills her mouth it will never fill her satisfaction. Will, cant give her that satisfaction

She only needs that interesting waffle/jack to satisfy her and fulfill that empty hole in her heart. She wants it bc she needs it.

By the way the compass never pointed to will. it only pointed to the chest and to jack.

you know what?

I think there is ANOTHER big clue with what he says there.

the meal would have been easy to go back to HAD she not eaten the waffle first..Ted is saying this as in before she tastes the waffle..the meal before hand would have been ok/easy to go back to if the temptation was just a temptation and she left it...but oh no..she tastes Jack, she gives in to the temptation..she basically eats him up when she kisses him...is there turning back now?

If I was sat in front of a nice meal...and I had the chance to eat the waffle whilst no one was looking??..I would do it..and then I wouldnt eat my dinner! because it would be spoiled..

and then leans towards Jack again for more.

*grins* Well, all I can say is that if you twist the context of the quote to fit your needs, you actually make it work. Unfortunately, what you have said doesn't match up with anything Ted had said...Ted is one of the writers of the movie, if I recall correctly.

Also, an interesting quote from him regarding the blocking in the movie...blocking is basically how they angle the camera, how they move the camera, etc...Again, this is from Ted:

If you watch the blocking in the scene on the beach before Elizabeth says the compass doesn't work and doesn't show you what you want (and the blocking immediately after), you'll know something that Elizabeth doesn't.

I watched that scene. when Will appears, he's coming from the direction the compass was pointing! he must have been in that direction, in the sea with the dutchman, when the compass appeared to point to jack.

The writer said this...not a fan. Interesting, no? Not to mention the compass led Elizabeth back toward the direction Will was coming from.

did he not arive like 45 minues AFTER the compass did that? 😆

and why would he be talking about the compass pointing at Jack/waffle if it wasnt pointing to him on the beach?

the writer said that..funny that 😂

Oh BTW the bloking thing?? I think that was when Elizabeth threw that down on the floor..it was pointing like away from both of them..then started to shift between the two.

EDIT - ok that was wrong^^ it was before hand.

If you watch the blocking in the scene on the beach before Elizabeth says the compass doesn't work and doesn't show you what you want (and the blocking immediately after), you'll know something that Elizabeth doesn't.

something is telling me that Ted didnt say that part^^ why would he need to watch it again to see where Will comes from? he wrote the damn thing. That came from stabo the cutlass from Kttc..I remember

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMIt04kheN4

Will does NOT clearly appear from behind there

OMG!!!!!!! 😂 first of all any loser can post that saying that the compass was pointing to will loool in jacks direction. RIIIGHHHHT

So When the compass pointed to Jack the first time, Will some how, miraculiously, was also standing at the direction where Jack was. Hmmm...

yeah I mean come on why would ted say its pointing to the waffle when She looks at it? the waffle is JACK..

I think there is something else in that scene that that we see that Liz doesnt...

something tells me its Norringtons reaction to what she says 🙂 We are the only people who see that. She doesnt.

1. the dutchman was moving..and FAST when will was on it before it sank..so if the compass points there, why did the compass stay still?

2. Will appears about 45 minutes after what the compass does in that scene and they dig up the chest..so Will was slap bang there the whole time? 😂

LOL Did u see Norringtons reaction?? He rolled his eyes

He was like "Please woman quit denying. You know you want Jack"

also i noticed that he was starring down as if he looked at the compass and noticed where it was pointing then looks up to jack lol.

Does anybody knows where I can see the clip where the compass points to Jack in the island, right before the fish-face arrives.

Ill look it up for ya lol. before captain tentacle head shows up.
