I agree. I dont think they are actually talking about what Jack is standing on because there is no indication immedietly afterward that Will is there or the dutchman..but when you look at the blocking where the dutchman is hiding behind its clear.
they arive on one end of the island. Pintell and Rageti stay there at that end with the boat and the dutchman is actually hiding behind the huge blocking to their right..Jack/Liz /Norrington walk between the two rather huge blockings from the end where Rageti and Pintel are to the other end of the island..
So the dutchman is behind them and to their RIGHT as they walk.
When they get to the far end of the island they TURN AROUND so the location of the dutchman is now to Elizabeth's left and to her FRONT!. Their backs are facing the shore CLOSEST to them. Jack stands on the sand dune and the compass points AWAY from where the dutchman is which is in front of her, backwards towards Jack himself..after she says this line the dutchman reveals itself to have been hiding behind that huge blocking in front of her and Will was still on it.
basically its saying Will/dutchman is actually quite near her, she desnt realise because its hiding behind the blocking. When we see the blocking again WE see that the dutchman is hiding there because we see it sink and it was NOT behind Jack when the compass pointed there it was in FRONT! 😂 cuz Davy was looking at pintel and ragetti on the other end of the island from its location 😂

so when both men are present..it points right at Jack.
aa SEA LA MADRE!!!!!!!!!!! Ok gurls i got some proof that the compass was way off that itWAS POINTING TO JACK. Im trying to take a pic that shows that its like several feet apart from where the compass showed (to jack) away where from captain tentacle head appeared.
but im trying to find a good program so i can capture them and post them here so they can get it shoved at their faces.

the compass ACTUALLY points backwards, South West towards Jack
she says it doesnt point to what you want most and we actually know that is IS pointing to what she wants most: JACK cuz Will is North West at that particular moment in time behind that blocking
