yes. when galactus is weaker, he is smaller, such as the time he came to earth and got his ass kicked, he was only about 15 feet tall. because he was hungry. really, i thought this was common knowledge.
Galactus survives a planets explosion; he's right in the middle of it.

Pay attention to how small he is in this one:

But yet when Aegis and Tenebrous injured and beat him in Annihilation he didnt get any smaller:

So that part of the argument is up to debate, but here in the forum we are supposed to use the current versions of the characters unless otherwise stated, and the Annihilation series is the most current version of Galactus we have, so you be the judge. 😉

why would re-reading that make me feel like an idiot?

Look, this is very simple, Phoenix is essential to the universe, and therefor, the OE WON'T WORK on her anymore than it will work on Supes. And before anyone says that she's been hurt by less than the OE, SO HAS SUPERMAN(like Toyman, Doomsday, and if you think about it, Darkseid's punches do less damage than the OE, and his punches work better against Supes).

And again you miss the point, hes not using it on the force but her mortal host and husk. Less powerful beams have done the job before. We've been over this before.
