Why is it that when a man kills another man in battle, it's heroic, but when a man kills another man in the heat of passion, it's murder?
Murder, by contrast, is not a necessity. It's a calculated choice to end someone else's life, usually with malice, and the murderer is almost certain to know the victim personally.
And killing someone in the heat of passion is considered manslaughter, not murder.
