IMO England likes to think of themselves as the mother country, the all that is to the US..............But remember the US was not found on England just as it wasn't founded on Spain.........It was many!........To think England did us a favor?...........Not !........And if you need to look back in history, did England do anything with the Monarchy?.........No, no, they didn't, though France did with their Independence, though it did work out, they did try.

What?
I respect the British, they're a tough country and our closest allies, we two countries have always relied on eachother, and the other has always been there in time of need. However, none of us would be around if it wasn't for the Romans or the Greeks, so there stands my point.

Totally. He could have spoilt it with humour or a point, but he didn't. We owe him.
Yeah, I'd buy him a fruity cocktail if I met him in a bar and he told me that little gem. It was a jewel of a joke! I almost didn't get it until I read that bit about it being a joke. So subtle. I wonder if he's got anymore?

That really depends if you're conservative or not.
Political standpoint has nothing to do with it, unless of course your political standpoint is that you don't care about what happens to your country. The US simply is the most powerful country in the world and at this time simply dictates a lot of the worlds policies, every country right now needs the US to at least somewhat like them if they want to prosper.
In a few years time this will likely be different with the markets in the east and all, but that's in the future not right now.
