Isn't a string of meaningless relationships, one right after the other, pretty much the same equivalent as being tied down to one woman? After a while, it's the same old thing, meeting a woman, seducing her, moving on. Where's the excitement in that?
The differences in Jack only add to the dimension and depth of the character, and no I'm probably one of the few people who think it will be a stronger movie for Jack not to end up with Elizabeth. This isn't to say that I don't think that it's beyond the character to love one woman, but that for one reason or another, fates, aka, the writers will conspire against them so that it will not be so.
And Jack Sparrow is so a real person. He's the chief of a small village on an unnamed, uncharted island.
Pey-la-la.
lol
yeah she does do that...but I think he kinda liked the fact she actually called him Jack for the first time there...that lil smile tee hee..and she was totally lost in is eyes there and Norringtons like..hmmm.."what the hell's goin on ere then?" lol
But I dunno if that was a front this time because Terry (I think it was him) said Jack's most honest when he's silent...and he was dead silent at the end of DMC...except for the "Pirate" I dunno why that line makes her physically jump though 😕
Also. He(terry on wordplay.com) said he doesnt love his pearl anymore..It doesnt mean freedom to him like it once did 🙁
"well u see thats why i think elizabeth intrigues him. she's a challenge. i could see him easily moving on."
No, I agree with you completely. Elizabeth's a pretty unique girl and he essentially recognized that at the beginning of the series (not all treasure is silver and gold mate.) I doubt if he'd say the same thing about Giselle and Scarlet.
If you really look closely at Elizabeth and Jack, they're essentially modern heroes trapped in a 18th century world aren't they? Which means they're complex, that their relationship won't be the cut and dry, heavily romantic relationship. It's very much dependent upon their challenging each other, getting the upper hand, getting revenge for getting the upper hand and how they both feel trapped by the society in which they live.
Ummmm, moving on where though?
Yes he's found someone unique..Liz is unique she's basically a 20th cent girl trapped in the 17th century (Keira on an interview). I think he found his equal in her on the beach in movie 1 because he leaves that movie singing the song she taught him there, where she actually screwed him over and burned his rum. and straight away in movie 2 he says "why is the rum always gone" which is a call back to whats on his mind. Elizabeth and its probably that whole encounter on the beach that sets her apart from every other woman he's been with. She's like his equal. Someone he can be himself around and not put on that intimidating front with..I think he only does that when he's feeling inferior or superior to someone..and he doesn't do it to her because he feels as if she is on his level I think.
This is a year later in DMC and Elizabeth is on his mind still.
did you not see how sad he looked when Liz said "It is" where her heart truly lies in movie 1?
we get Norristown's hurt face then there is a pang in the music because it also reveals that Jack is looking sad too. He's found someone special in her it seems and he's sad to let her go.
actually..you just made me think odfsomething. Its like she's slightly begining to realise she is his equal, At the end when he says "pirates" to her she's like "whoah!"..and in movie 1 when he suggests they are equal she's lost in his eyes and is like "hang on a sec Jack considers me to be just like him?"
Yeah I agree. We will wait and see.
I'm not actually confident in a J/E ending mainly because spoilers I've heard..but I still think its possible to be added in.

ok, so in your opinion jack will remain boring and faithful lol. but the next question is- do you want him to be? or do you want him to be the same jack we know and love?
I don't think Jack would turn boring, he is capable of loving someone and be faithful. When you fall in love you are capable of being faithful and do things you have never though you've do before.
That doesn't mean he is going to be boring and lame. I think we all loved the idea about this character developing and changing. His character was taken in to places that the audiences didn't expected. And thats what made me fell in love with the idea of him changing and turning in to the better man that deep down inside he has always been.
sorry 3rd post in a row. I'm not too sure that he see's Liz as a little challenge because he seemd to be running away from her at the start of DMC..he knew he wanted her yet he refused to go back and see her. Its like he's afraid to accept the challenge of being with her.
I dont think he's interested in sleeping with her then dumping her otherwise if thats what the compass was showing him at the start then he probably would have just gone and tried it on with his Jack Sparrow charms but he wont..She's on his mind and he's afraid to go and claim her..there's something deeper going on with Jack when it comes to Liz I think.
Also Jack's act at the end of DMC seemed to be an act of being faithful to Elizabeth and I thought it was pretty awesome to see 😄 Twasnt boring in my bokkie wooks, he kicked ass for her. instead of running away trying to save himself..I saw Jack be a hero for her and I loved it 😄
PS when ever I look at the title of this thread I think back to the simpsons where homer had a 1 man band thing on and the monkey attacked him.
I'll re-word: would you like the ending to be:
A- Jack and Elizabeth faithful.
B- Jack and Elizabeth byt eye wandering.
C- JACK AND ANNAMARIA FAITHFUL!!!!!!
D- Jack and anna but eye wandering.
E-Jack sailing off for more adventures with his crew.
F- Jack sailing off for adventures with a reformed but still dastardly Barbossa.
G-Same as above but with will too.
Jack cant really be a pirate for much longer because the age of piracy historically drew to a close around the same time AWE is set..ye want to see Jack sail of to be by his onesies..into a grim fate of certain torture and hanging? 🙁
(looking for homer clip on youtube where he's attacked by the monkey but i cant find it lmao)
Jack will always be a pirate, just maybe not literally. Whatever he ends up doing, he'll be a pirate doing it. Think about how exciting the world was then. Revolutions, inventions, new lands being discovered, etc, there is so much for him to do, and he loves freedom, and so there is always a way to find freedom. It's not the ocean he loves, although I think he does love it in a way.
