Mina: Don't know exactly about the chart, since I haven't looked at it, but if Liz is the sunrise and Jack is the sunset, an interesting way to look at this is from the perspective of "My Antonia". The two characters are quite right for each other, but at the end of the book as they are saying their good-byes, the sun and the moon are in the sky at the same time, on opposite sides of the world.

They can't be together, ever. Sunset, sunrise...they never happen at the same time.

As for why the scenes were cut for J/E...the theory that makes me giggle the most is one I shan't share with you at this time. What I really think is that the J/E 'moments' were so unimportant to the overall story that they simply were cut, because it had no bearing on how the film ends.

Discussion Question: Besides Elizabeth cheating on Will (and thereby making her look like a total b*tch), what other ways could Jack and Elizabeth be together without causing harm to Will?

As I think I've stated before, the only way I see that Liz and Jack could be together and still look sympathetic to an audience is for Will to die. Whether you want to go by love or by obligation, Liz would never cheat on Will. Now, if the whole heart stabbing thing didn't work out and Will didn't suddenly get a new bandana and awesome scar, maybe in their grief, things would have clicked with Jack and Liz. I think she would have stayed a pirate, probably sailing with Jack. He'd be the only family she'd have.

Fourth movie, Jack discovers the Jack and Lizzie things on the chart.. Will dies.. Oh Em Gee! It's destiny.. hehe hehe

That could be a really fun movie.

If you wanted to moon about Jack and Elizabeth and how hawt they are, I wouldn't have a problem. I'd probably join in the fun. If you want to discuss what relationship they actually have in the films, I would join in the fun.

However, you are attempting to change canon, and that irks me. As if everything in the movie isn't enough proof, TnT have stated numerous times that the canon couple is Will and Elizabeth, that the curse is broken because Elizabeth remained faithful, etc.

Attempting to find ways around this to make Jack and Elizabeth canon is borderline rude to the writers, actors, producer and director, who worked their asses off to bring us a good movie. Whinging about how you didn't get your ending isn't fair and then attempting to undermine the canon is annoying.

And don't you worry; I've really gotten into it with slashers. I enjoy slash too, but I'm not going to pretend it's canon or truly plausible unless specifically indicated by the author(s) of a particular work.

Yes, I'm a canon freak. I write fanfiction and change out canon without a qualm, but I never try to pretend my "verse" is more correct than what the author wrote.

To simplifiy: It's really a matter of (or lack of) respect of canon and the writers that gets me going.

Go away. Damn, if you got nothing else to say but to debate just walk away. Before AWE came out, I always passed by at the Willabeth thread over at KTTC and I only said nice things. I enjoyed their company and they always welcomed me. I never came there to ruin their atmosphere and their moment.

You may think that there is nothing else to Ship because Willabeth won. But there is a lot more to discuss and Willabeth did not win, no matter what the movie showed.

This is a Sparrabeth thread where there is a Sparrabeth atmosphere with Sparrabethers. This isn't a debate thread. This is about enjoying them, seeing them together, discuss theories from a Sparrabether's point of view, share pictures and whatever. It is clear that you just cannot stand Sparrabeth. Erm, you showed that in every single post that you have made ever since you came in here. And another thing, we are not interested in your slash, gay men fantasies. So also take that with you else where.

I'm so fed up. I cannot even work on a simple story/fic with you. I was feeling guilty all this time thinking that it was me. That I was feeling selfish. Well, it's not me. It's you. And this is one of the reasons why I have to drag myself to come in KMC and say hello to my friends. Because you just keep nagging and debating and nagging and debating. Get yourself some help. All I'm saying is that if you don't have nothing NICE to say and you don't feel like sharing any thing special with J/E, then bite your tongue and walk away. Just make you that you don't die from the venom.

Another thing, we're not offending the writers. There are some things that I can't understand why they wrote it that way or why was it this way. I respect them but I'm NOT A SUCK UP. I'm not their lawyer either defending their rights. There are some things that I don't agree with the cast, it's only natural because I'm human and each person has a mind of it's own.
