I do actually find it kind of sad that out of 170 minutes of film, they only got about 5 minutes of screen time together (1 minute of the vid didn't have Jack in it). Also, they only said about 13 lines to each other throughout the entire film.
But I do love at about 5:11 in the vid when he says "hold on" to her. Love the parachute part.
Yeah, it's really a shame.
What confuses me, though, is Beckett's line in DMC: "A marriage interrupted...or fate intervenes. You make great efforts to ensure Jack Sparrow's freedom." It seemed so important at the time. FATE INTERVENES! What about that? So it was just a random line that ended up being incorrect? Gah. In AWE it seems like that line (along with many others) didn't even exist!
i know...it's as if DMC didn't even exist in AWE....in fact, there was such little implications or references to what happened between jack and Liz in DMC...it's sort of strange how at the end she says "it would never have worked out between us"...the line seems a little out there...if you were a new comer to the Pirate trilogy...and lets say you hadn't seen the first two...you would be like..."now where did that come from, why did she say that, poor girl she's really lost it."......Go figure......
AWE was just one big mess...and for a company that's suppose to be aobut morals...well they really "screwed" with us, literally...
i was working on one of our videos that TMaria and I work on and I was thinking how all three movies "end" with Jack and Elizabeth saying goodbye to each other:
1) he tells her "Elizabeth, it would never have worked out between us, darling, I'm sorry".....
2) she kisses jack and chains him to the mast and says "it's after you, not us, this is the only way, don't you see....I'm not sorry"..and he says "Pirate".....she turns and walks away and he has an admiring smile on his face....
3) she tells jack "it would never have worked out between us"...he says "keep telling yourself that, darling".....she tries to give jack a goodbye kiss and he says "once was quite enough".....and she says "thank you".....and he has that admiring smile on his face as he watches her walk away.....

COTBP was on TV this morning so I watched it. At the part where Jack is forcing Elizabeth to put his effects on him, I love the moment where she has to put her arms around him and he has this smirk on his face as she does it and looks at Norrington like, "Ha, I bet she's never gotten this close to you before." That's just the way I interpreted it the first time I saw it and thought it was rather cute.
