thank you! hehe

i LOVE that scene! she´s very serious (or at least tries to). nearly seems she wants to kick his ass and then just look at his eyes, like "lying to yourself love is not the right way, you know that!"

god, this man is so damn hot...

Sigh, I attached this exact image on another thread. I hear ya, Djinn. It's hard to ex out of it once you click on it. Man, Liz is a dope.

SERIOUSLY HOTT!! I LOVE HIM!!

Seriously here saying that Line "it would have never worked between." it sooo looks like man i cant even believe im saying this to a man as hot as he....she looks like she can barely contain herslef from attacking the gorgeous creature and seriously haveing her way with him right there on the deck in front of everyone!!!!! 😄

I know....Jack is just telling her that in other keep telliner yourself that Darling, you know it's not true. I have feeling that wont be the last time Jack and Lizzie will see each other.

i HOPE not! altough i think they won´t end up together, i still have faith in t&t they put some good scenes between jack and liz in the movie. they were really stupid if they didn´t, knowing what the majority is hoping for...

she looks tired, and resolved. not entirely happy about her resolve, but she's not going to play games with him this time. she's seen where that led before.

Jack is just teasing her, and more gently than he has before, in my mind. of course, i don't know the rest of the conversation, but "keep telling yourself that, darling" is a good way of saying, "oh no, by all means, marry the whelp... me and the Pearl will just be hanging out, looking hott. but if that's what you want, go for it." he doesn't seem as manipulative or overpowering as in DMC... but like I said, havent seen the full conversation.

it's so frustrating to me how they are never on the same page--- first she wants him, then he wants her, but they never seem to hit the mark at the same time, except when they are out to kill one another.

Don't you think he's being a little gentler because he's tired of it, too? I think they both want to end the game and just talk it out like regular people, but circumstances and pride won't let them.

pride, oh yes...they both have a lot of it. i think he IS somehow tired of it. i suppose he knows what COULD be between the two if they were both willing to give up that pride which keeps them apart, even only of a deeper friendship. he knows she has killed him and is actually much too young for him. he is, from liz´s point of view, just a dirty old pirate which can´t satisfy her desire for a decent husband. at least this is what she keeps telling herself...

ah...kate, you always seem to know how to make us laugh...when we feel like crying...I love how you said...Jack's look is like "go ahead and marry the eunichy whelp, if that's what you want....me and the Pearl will just be hanging out looking hott and sexy..and free...but since this isn't what you want, then by all mean go...run off with yourself, then..."....
ah...jack ...he never looked more sexier than he does at that exact moment...looking all brave and strong and resolute.....

ah, heck, who am I kidding...Jack looks sexier and hotter than ever in every scene throughout all the Pirate Movies...

"You have Stolen My Heart"....(love that song by Dashboard Confessionals).....

Yep. To be fair, the age difference between Liz and Norrington was the common age difference for people to marry back then. It doesn't have to be overwhelming, but the ideal pair was where the guy was about 10 years or so older than the girl. It was actually less common for two people the same age to marry. Will and Liz are actually being very unconventional there.

Also, yep to Jack's (stupid) reasons for not abandoning his pride and just telling her he loves her. I think he does think he's too old for her but he'd get pretty pissed if anyone else said that. That must be a conflict. He knows they're similar, perfectly compatible and deep down she's just as "bad" as he is, but yet there has to be that lingering "she's a good girl, virgin, I'd just corrupt her" thing going on.

you´re right, the age difference was normal for that time, exactly like the fact girls didn´t have to say a word who they ought to marry...
but jack always appeared a little older to me than norrington.
well, a reason for this may be the large amount of sun and fights..
what do you think how old jack is? (i guess he´s about 30, 32 )

When I first watched COTBP...I assumed Jack to be in his early to mid thirties....but the actor who plays him, Johnny Depp is 43....so who knows how old Jack is....they never really say...all we know is that he was old enough to make a deal with Davy Jones 13 years ago...from the day of DMC...so....but I just always assumed that Jack is somewhere about 12 to 15 years older than Will and Elizabeth...

And yes,....age difference back in those days was very common...shoot I had just read a historical romance novel last summer...before I saw DMC..where the girl was 18 and the man she falls in love with is 42...and it was called "Forbidden Love"...but it's so great...cuz it's all about how the man thinks he is too old for her...and he was her guardian..and but then he can't help himself...he falls in love with her....

That reminds me of Phantom of the Opera.. The Phantom had to be a good bit older than Christine.

well, that makes the whole thing a lot more forbidden and interesting...
