you might be right. I just don't want DS to be shown like Thanos was because then people will start equating them, especially those casual comic hero fans who don't know better.
At first what drew me in was that Superman would be overpowered like in the original films, if Watchman's Ozymandias and Doc Manhattan were to be my basis of his super hero adaptations.
However, this is turning out to be less and less likely, as the military can suppossedly pose a minimal threat. Superman should be able to wrip a planet asunder by flexing a small portion of his pinky finger like in the comics.
Why do I find overpowered and broken to be more interesting? Well when he does something like that it kinda forces you to broaden your scope of awareness. Like a bullet hitting his eyeball in returns, think about an eyeball that can take a straight shot without anything happening, it's more difficult to imagine than a bullet bouncing off the S symbol on his chest - which is why that would appeal to me. Another example his him reversing the direction of hurricane winds in Superman III by creating a centrifical force exactly proportionate to that of the Tornado's, cancelling it out with precise exertion of his flight to increase his body's center of mass and the inertia it exerted against the wind-pressure of the tornado.
