This action packed re-make Directed by Zack Snyder and with Nolan's name attached also is bound to blow the memory of SR away.

the sad part about that is SR was released during the summer with all the other summer event movies. so folks felt it was safe to assume that:
1. the movie was going to be action packed even if the story was crap.
2. great special effects
they got neither........

Pacific Rim will be a utter failure of a movie. It will attract non-horny teens who liked transformers only for the machines vs machines plots. Much like the laughable battleship, it tries to ride the wave of the success that transformers 1-3 created. Sorry, not going to happen.
Also, that poll is pretty nice news for MoS.

it appears that krypton may be destroyed by war vice the planet spontaneously exploding.
kal el will surpass the class he was born in terms of power and capabilities.

Superman was created 1938.. Dragonball Z Mid 1980's..
Superman origin Story follows you know something along the line of... last survivor of a species that look exactly like humans. Raised by parents who later die(both or one survives). Other survivors of the krypton are introduced who want to rule earth, ie: Zod. A few others change sides or decide to help Superman (Kara).
Now DBZ origin story goes something like
Last survivor of a species that look exactly like humans. Raised by parents who later die(both or one survives). Other survivors of the krypton are introduced who want to rule earth, ie: Vegetta/Nappa. A few others change sides or decide to help Superman (Vegetta)

hey, thanks for chiming in and stating the obvious.
those elements in my previous post, you know, the one you overlooked but quoted are the parts i feel are dragonball z'ish.
saiyans are born in classes, their planet destroyed by war, goku was born a low level saiyan who surpassed his class.
zack synder is huge anime fan, i'm sure he was aware of some of those factors.

i'm only talking about the man of steel movie and some of the small changes zack snyder says he's making.
krypton being destroyed by war is not an original element of the superman lore nor is the whole class system by genetics.

people not agreeing doesn't mean they don't comprehend.
both elements have been in the comics before in various forms though, iirc. it isn't like Snyder came up with these by himself.
i'm not so sure he borrowed said elements, but there's no way to really know, I guess.
