I'm not saying it will make less money then MoS. Like PR said, superheroes are popular thanks to TDK, Avengers, and Ironman. What I'm saying is, don't change the words to make it look like SR did good numbers. No it didn't, it was considered a failure financial, it was slammed in every way possible. It did not gross a lot of money, nor a high profit. However, it was able to make money for the same reason people are stating MoS will make money. The same reasoning was behind SR when it was announced.

- It's the best known Superhero
- It is modern Superman(Special effects and all, with modernized world yet still stuck in past)
- There hasn't been a superman movie in over a decade

There wasn't a lot of hype on the internet because internet traffic at the time pales in comparison to what it is today. Like I said, youtube alone generates more traffic than the entire USA did back in 2006. Obviously, you will get more views, articles..etc being hyped or talked about.

Aa far as grossing, I think it will be around 550-650. If it is received well like Avengers, Ironman, TDK, i would guess about 700-750. But keep in mind, I'm quite sure there aren't any movies that I know of that have been released in June to make over 100ml on the weekend. Most flop or don't make money.

You did say this.

I really hope this movie does numbers similar to that of Batman Begins in the box office. Anything higher is wishful thinking.

MOS has way more buz than Batman Begins.

Yes it does.

people not agreeing doesn't mean they don't comprehend.

both elements have been in the comics before in various forms though, iirc. it isn't like Snyder came up with these by himself.

i'm not so sure he borrowed said elements, but there's no way to really know, I guess.

folks saying that i called superman a copy of DBZ IS them not comprehending what i actually wrote.

no, synder didn't come up with these ideas nor are they original to superman until recently.
i think these elements work in his favor because it makes more sense for an advanced civilization to be destroyed by war vice spontaneous combustion of their world and them not have the tech to know about it well in advance to escape.

ANYWAY, I think everything about this movie looks awesome. I may be in the minority, but I think Batman Begins was a better BATMAN movie than the Dark Knight, while the Dark Knight was a better movie in general. They really got what Batman was about really well in that movie, and there were a lot of awesome Batman moments "Where are you?!?!" "Here." being a good example.

From what I've seen so far, they seem to be getting Superman perfectly in this movie. Jor-El's speech about Superman giving earth an ideal was absolutely perfect IMO.

The special effects were great. You should check your eyesight.

hmmm

saying that i should have my eyes checked is implying that my vision is bad, which would mean i would have had more trouble seeing bad effects.

but i digress, lets compare.....

or

naw, i think your vision sucks

The dark knight is the perfect batman movie to date.

what exactly is bad about those images?

IMO the Dark Knight was a great movie and a great Batman story. I just think that Batman Begins was a better Batman movie. In begins Batman felt more like...well...Batman. They got the whole idea of Batman better. This is most likely because the entire focus of the movie was Batman himself. The Dark Knight was a better movie by a large factor. It had a much better story. It had Heath as a the Joker. It was awesome. Begins was a better Batman movie IMO because the movie focused pretty much solely on him, he didn't have a great bad guy overshadowing him.

besides the fact you can tell which one is obviously a digital effect?

singer opted to use mostly a CGI supes when he didnt' have to. the superior flight scenes in the movie are the ones with the actual actor in them.

Where they used the real actor?

You mean like the fight scene where Lex and his goons were slapping Superman around?

God I hate that movie!

As long as this version of Supes will thrash the shit out of Thor/Hulk in the Movie Versus, I'll be happy.

LOL Yeah well you'll get lucky there. Marvel seem more bothered about winning the box office rather than winning versus forums.

well technically, Thor, Hulk, and even Captain America did not do soo well in terms of financial success. But they were a build up for Avengers and Marvel knew it would pay off.

Anyways, I do hope like TDK, the movie focus on the antagonist a lot. I hate movies like SR that focus solemnly on the hero that the villain is usually a generic copy of the "I want to rule the world" type of thing. One that that I liked about TDK is that it put a lot of spotlight on the Joker; portraying him more realistic, more menacing, and add a good flavor, but still giving his this mysterious vibe. Hopefully, the script writer along with Zynder did the same thing with Zod. I don't want to see Zod as the guy who doesn't kill, or who just wants to rule for no reason. Give some depth into it, some meaning, some carnage. Let him torture someone using heatvision. Crush some hands to human who disobeyed..etc. Make him more threatening than Bane.

Whoa now! No one is more threatening than Bane!

Personally, I thought he was pretty intimidating

Thor did very well. Despite previously not being anywhere near as well known a superhero as Cap and Hulk.

Now with his own success and the boost from Avengers I'm betting the Thor sequel makes $500mill+

Dark Knight was more of a good movie than a good Batman movie, imo.
