i like the john williams theme better at this point.. the build up, the crescendo, the anticipation, the opening notes.. after hearing the opening notes on the john williams score, you just know that superman is coming.. the music builds you up, and then BAM!! here's superman.. you can see him flying, if only in your mind.. majestic cape flowing and sh!t..
this hans zimmer theme is also great.. the drums at the beginnig reminds me of the neo/seraph fight from the matrix.. when i hear hans theme, i see superman in the midst of kicking ass, i see feats of strength, which is great also..
both themes are great in their own rite.. they create an ambiance, a scene if you will.. one is about finesse and the other kicking ass.. i'm sure hans' music will fit the movie perfectly, just like william's did back then..

I wouldn't call Williams' theme as having finesse. There's nothing really subtle about it, its simple, straightforward, but that's a good thing.
It signifies Superman is on the scene perfectly.
Basically, if its easy to hum, then its perfect for Superman.
I don't think the new song (if its even Superman's theme at all), has that same ease of use. Though I think it would work well in fights scenes where Superman is starting to mount a a comeback.
Whereas a Williams' type theme fits a situation where outright triumph is being demonstrated. I say Williams' fits best for big feats and intro and 'revitalization' scenes.

I'm not going to a midnight premier. I'll be tired and won't remember it all.I'm taking a whole Friday off to get a three day weekend.
I hate the big crowd here too. NYC is a cesspool when it comes to audience on weekend release. 5 out of 10 times, you got a douchebag who is using a laser to annoy people. There is always a group who are screaming about what's going to occur the next min. Oh, and most likely you wont get a seat without having to argue with someone in the back for kicking your chair.
Now I just wait til the weekday. $16 cheaper (if i take a date) and no crowd

matinee weekday is the best time to go see a high profile movie like this.. i do it all the time.. i hate the crowds.. my logic is if there is a huge crowd, one or two douchebags probably made it out of their crawl spaces..
When I saw Iron Man 3, I was practically the only one in the theater. Otherwise one of those db's invariably shows up at the last second, is the tallest guy in town, and he effen sits right in front of moi.
Kinda cool, but MOS is being marketed with National Guard.
