It's says in Marvel bios that Phoenix saved previous Universe and enable Eternity to go on, it says Phoenix Force literally saved Galan (so due to that, Galactus lives and it is what it is because of Phoenix Force).
But on panel, it hasn't been proven, but I don't why would they lie (but then again, it also has never been proven anything about Full powered Galactus).
Anyway, Dark Phoenix takes this, she would tear Galactus apart.
Galactus was scared of Dark Phoenix.

Yeah, I've never bought that bullcrap. It was basically an X-Men writer trying to increase the threat level of a X character. It was kinda low. You shouldn't retcon something for no damn reason, and especially not to increase comic sales.

I don't think it was that, since Phoenix was already at the beggining so powerful. It just is what it is. Pheonix was already at the beggining powerful and held in higher rank than Galactus (according to Watcher).
