Andy Schmidt Marvel Editor has said Phoenix has nothing to do with Galactus's origin. Also if we are going by Handbooks Galactus and Silver Surfer beat the crap out of the Phoenix.

Ok, you got me (although I haven't believed now for sometime what it says in Marvel bios and such...)
Still, when Galactus and Pheonix fought (even Rachel), Rachel won pretty much with ease, so it is easy to say Phoenix would own Galactus.
Galactus hasn't done anything, he lost to Phoenix.
Can anyone tell me what is Galactus greatest feat?
I have been thinking about it now, but didn't come to any really his great feat, soemthing significant or important to stay in mind.
Only his feat to stay in mind are one when he gets beaten by much weaker opponents and when he beaten powerful Tyrant. Those are which I can remember immediately.
Now, can anyone tell me his really great feat?

Now, what is greater, destroying an Universe or holding it like Phoenix did (or did you forget about it), who could at will just sqeeze it.
Destroying something is by far easiest thing to do. I can destroy my monitor like nothing, but I won't be able to construct just like that, right.
What Phoenix did is far above anything Galactus has done.
well, i think its been retconned to hell and back already, but in the last galactus story galactus was supposed to split his armor open and release the next big bang to create the new universe, in which nova his herald would be the new galactus. thats pretty impressive if you want to talk about creating things. though destructive feats would probably be more useful here, its not a "who can built the sturdiest moniter" contest. its how much damage they can cause eachother. no feat doesnt mean no ability either.
ive always liked galactus, and in his original role he was the most powerful thing there is, no phoenix force or anything like that. writers just need to keep going bigger and better to have an impact. pity, galactus used to be so badass.

i think the whole phoenix saving galactus fits together quite nicely actualy. in the depictions of galactus's origin the setience that saves him is a formless mass of energy. just like the phoenix befor it took the bird form.
the spirit talks of taking the all the matter of the univers in to its "bosom"
a feminine reference.
then it says we will die "surender your self to my fiery embrase"
sounds kind of phoenix like.
then it says "let our death throws serve as birth pangs"
sounds like the rebirth cycle to me.
which the phoenix is the spirit of.
now we know at the time thay did not have phoenix in mind but the retcon does fit.
the cosmic egg fits in to it as well! who els but the phoenix could hatch it?

i agree with the bios also,but still use on panel sources for feats and such i have no problem with fitting phoenix into the origin of galactus and yes it does fit nicely,its only the phoenix haters who will deny that
think about it, the marvel reps who are responsible for the bios and such have to depend on them for new and old readers to reference and for them to rely on,i know nobody is perfect but lets let marvel determine that, let the posters scan galactus's origin all they like,they will quote a bio when it helps them but not if it makes their favorite look like they have been demoted or somthing
