Now, I could understand it if he had said "I just wanted to make music that interested me" or something like that. But if he came from a middle-class family, and his dad had money, and his mom made him lunch every day, then rock and blues and hip-hop are definitely NOT "part of his background". Oh yeah, all the old Delta Blues artists came from wealthy middle-class families. Perhaps hip-hop could be "part of his background" if he had grown up in the inner city.

OMGoodness, his "background" is what he likes to listen to, so, all of it is part of his life, the type of music that influenced him as well as the type of home he was raised in. I'm black, but part of my "background" is classic southern rock, most of the songs on my Ipod is from whites and most of it is rock related music. Most of the songs remind me of a place in my life, part of my background. If someone else listened into my Ipod, they probably would "assume" I was "trying" to be white or anything that has nothing to do with the feeling that I have when I listen to those songs, they remind me of places I've been in my life, a window in my old room, my childhood, heartbreak...the songs have MEANING to me, but if someone were to look at my race, they would think only from their own limited perspective.

Kid Rock's race has nothing to do with the point I was making, but ok.

Kramer is a character from a television show. He is only what the writers make him out to be.

As for Michael Richards, who knows if he is a racist, he said something that was racist, but that could of been done out of anger, frustration or stupidity. What he said does not make him a racist (though he may be, I neither know nor care) but it his behaviour does make him look like an idiot or someone on the edge of a breakdown.

Tis ridiculous -- this whole "controversy." This world is on the verge of destruction, and we're worried about the comments of a washed up actor/comedian.

I actually feel a bit sorry for the guy(to a limited extent - I mean he is a millionaire and all) I saw the video - and those hecklers were being extremely rude, and continued to engage him in *** for tat(using racial slurs themselves) after he made the comment.

Still - it was kind of funny(and ironic) to hear the n - word come from Kramer's mouth. *Ironic* - because I've always thought that Kramer himself -- looked the part of an octoroon(as do many in the Sienfeld cast).

But do not worry Kramer fans - if the hecklers take him to court - he can hire Jackie Chiles, the greatest attorney in New York, as a defense lawyer.

They called him a cracker, because he called them niggers. There was no racial slurs used until kramer started using them. KRAMER IS A RACIST.

There is a difference between using racial slurs in anger and being a racist. Do you think he hates black? Do you really believe that deep inside he hates the race? Or was he maybe just angry and used what was most offensive?
