So I guess you guys are arguing the difference between politically correct and just plain correct. Yes, it's politically correct for a black man on stage to call anyone anything he wants, but let a white man do it and it's the second coming. The guy was pissed at being heckled and spoke according to his standards. If it were a black guy calling an audience member a cracker, or a honky, or whatever, it would be fine. In fact the crowd would laugh. However, this guy was calling him a ****** for purely harmful reasons. So, that makes it wrong I guess.
Bottom line, in my opinion, "Kramer" saying ****** on stage is no different than a black man calling another black man ****** or a gay man calling another gay man a ******. Sure, teh dividing line is all in intent, but a word can't be wrong one moment and right the next. On that note, if we're outlawing the use of words or phrases for the sake of political correctness, then I think the phrase "know what I mean?" should be banned from all black verbage. All it does is make the person who says it sound like an idiot. Granted, not the first time, but after the tenth time it does. If the black people in this country want to be taken at face value, then fine...I'm all for it. But if they don't, then don't act like you should be. Being able to clearly express what you think to the listening audience is important. And the listening audience in this country don't respect the fact that you can't finish a statement without asking if I understand what you're saying. Because I can't. I'm no longer listening to what you have to say when you repeat "know what I'm sayin'" two dozen times.
