Batdude's Tourney Discussion Thread

as an outsider who doesn't much care how it falls out -- one of them should be down a post. 2 individual write-ups shouldn't count as a single prep post, imo, when others have been keeping to the one-post/team rule. if it's too complex, edit it until it's simpler. 20 000 words of prep is just a 'wee' bit long . . .

blah

blah blah

In case anyone's interested, the Final match of Evangel's Tourney is currently running and is scheduled to finish on Wednesday.

I guarantee no-one is interested 😛

Yeah, sorry for the whole prep/battleplan confusion, we thought that you could have two posts each.

I also shouldn't have spoken about Black Alice...she wasn't really my character. Anyway, I don't think it bothers that we can take powers from people she hasn't used - I mean, it is within her powerset. And two other copiers are doing the same, right?

Sorry 'bout the confusion.

Wait, didn't you pick her, in the draft (yes I know)?
Anyway, it wasn't argued what it would be like, at first. BW didn't say anything against what you said, until now.

Well like I said, it's not really my case to make. But there are differences between each of the power copiers involved in the tourney.

Super Adaptoid can use the powers well, but he can only copy people that he has before.

Space Phantom only gets access to the powers themselves, his ability to use them effectively is severely limited when if it's not someone that's made subject to their whole "soul link" strategy. And it's actually further restricted by there having only Marvel characters on their team(so he can't find out about anyone in DC to copy from).

Black Alice on the other hand, has at least a moderate understanding of the powers she absorbs(at least enough to pull off SOME of their more complicated/exotic abilities), and by allowing her to copy from people that she never has before(from Marvel AND DC), she has access to the powers of probably THOUSANDS of characters. That puts her(and your team) at a significant advantage over every other team that no one was aware of when she was drafted. You've literally got an army at your beck and call at this point.

I don't plan on raising a big fuss over it or anything(like I said, it's pr's argument for now, and batdude's final call), I was just pointing out the situation.

Only those we can prove her having/getting knowledge from. Either through his teammates of if she knows them themselves.

And remember, Black Alice is limited to magical characters.

Silver Surfer/Keeper hasn't really met that much magical characters to have enough knowledge of them. I actually could count the eglible choices with one hand, most magic characters he meets are too powerful for the Tourney (Strange level, guys like Dormammu or Memphisto).

All-Star Superman has met zero magical characters.

Since half of magical characters Black Alice herself has met are too powerful for us to get (etc. the wizard Shazam, Spectre, Fate, Zatanna), from her we have like five choices, most which we aren't going to use because their limits or too low powerlevel.

All in all...we have about ten choices at best...much less then Adaptoid has met or Space Phantom has choices from. Phantom can get the powers of practically any Marvel character in the history, considering who his teammates are...and Adaptoid has met like what, 50 different people?

So why did you pick her then (I know she is good, but if they are too low or high, then what is the point?)?

Plus, this still doesn't equate her into stealing the people's powers.

I said we are not going to use most. She still has good ones too.

And we don't steal from anyone in the tournament either, so that doesn't matter...Space Phantom steals powers too.

Liar ... I know you're all just reading it, looking for tactics you can steal to use in this tourney.

😛

Alright, seriously, i just want to ask this, and if its legal, then so be it, but christ, it seems a bit much...

1. Alice using loki's (gaining them first of all, is that allowed) powers to grant each person telepathy, and then multiplying it by a factor of a thousand...

2. giving all-star superman durok's powers (I'm ok with that, i just want to be sure)

3: this...

He will then use his matter manipulation skills to increase the mass of the boards by tenfold. After doing that, he will fill them all with really sharp quantum spikes. How sharp, you ask? Well, as Keeper has the sight of All-Star Superman and Silver Surfer combined...he will make them atom thin. They are now capable of slicing through virtually anything. Think Wolverine's claws or Wonder Woman's sword. The boards are naturally under Keeper's total control. The power he shared with his other team-mates also enables them to control the boards if they wish so.

again, just curious, if its legal then oki doki...

in short, the quantum weapons/boards, the upgrades of telepathy and strength, if they are all fair, then ok, but if not, and the combination does exceed the cap, then i'd like to know...

I'm not complaining or moaning, i just don't want us to be put at a disadvantage because we didn't know something about keeper or Alice (given their obscurity)

if its all legal, and I'm making something out of nothing, then i have no problem whatsoever, and i honestly don't believe blair and dc would intentionally try to go over the cap either, I'm in no way attacking them, ok guys? 😮

and guys, i know your posts are long, but honestly, i was expecting a little bit more in terms of substance, i mean, what you make into a paragraph, i've seen other people put in a sentence... 😛

😬.

1. Loki isn't above Thanos.

2. Durok? Meh. He's Thor level at best.

3. Matter manipulation is a staple ability of the Surfers.

Maybe the confusion is in the cap: It's the cap for each individual character. Once you start power meshing, that cap is more or less meaningless.

1. i dont mean loki himself, just the actual effect he's having on the match...

2. thought so... in fact, after rereading it, im not as wary of him as i was before...

3. true, but to that extent?

possibly... thx for your input...

Thor killed Durok without Mjolnir or the Odinpower.

Yeah, but he's faired well against Thor in the past.

I mean, I'm not disagreeing with you, Thor's feats in ragnarok were insane, even before regaining the odin power or 'reading' the runes.

That's why I said Durok was Thor level AT BEST - his top showings DO put him around that level.

His lowest ones, obviously, do not. 🙂.

um, sol, why you are arguing on behalf of bw and dc . . .? 😕

if it makes you feel better pr, i've LOADS of questions about their prep. however, it is not my place to point out what may be holes or . . . stretches in their strategy. that's for you to decide, i'm afraid.

and is bats still actually running this thing . . .? 😕
